  • Luxury glamping in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
  • Wildlife haven by a brook leading to the River Wye and walks
  • Meat or veggie breakfast provided every morning: have it in bed
Wend your way to luxury glamping wagons in the Wye valley at Wriggles Brook Gypsy B and B, for holidays among green countryside and in a wildlife haven, and in a peaceful setting 15 minutes from the M50 for easy access to Welsh adventures. Wriggles Brook is in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (and outstanding it is too), in a valley setting 20 minutes’ drive from Ross-on-Wye and 20 from Hereford. This is a definite wildlife haven: bluetits, nuthatches and other feathered species regularly feed at the bird tables close to each Wriggles Brook gypsy caravan, while peregrines, buzzards and sparrowhawks soar overhead. At ground level, look out for otters and foxes… and the flash of blue that means a kingfisher has darted for a fish close by... The gypsy caravans are in their own acre of garden with farmland on one side and hills on the other, adjacent to the Wriggles Brook stream that gives the site its name (the brook is a tributary of the River Wye if your tastes tend towards riverside walks and some of the finest salmon fishing to be had in the country). All caravans on site sleep two adults and have bedding, a fridge, heating and a guest kitchen. A full breakfast – meat or veggie – is provided every morning and brought right to your door: have it in bed if you like... For other supplies, local village Hoarwithy half a mile down the lane (follow the brook along to the Wye) has a friendly pub serving food and local ale and cider. The pub’s also the setting for the village shop, which sells essentials, fresh meat, cheese, butter, eggs, fruit, vegetables and homemade bread. Dogs are welcome; just please let the Wriggles Brook team know in advance, using the contact details in your booking confirmation email.

Local attractions

Wriggles Brook is in a secluded setting down a single lane track, but is easy to get out and about from to highlights around Herefordshire and to museums, castles and activities all around. If you’d rather stay close to your gypsy caravan home, have a hike up the hill at Hoarwithy village to see the Italianate church on top, or meander the half mile along the brook to reach the local pub and from there for walks along the Wye. Canoeing, fishing, cycling, birdwatching, golf and horse riding are all in the surrounding countryside: ask the Wriggles Brook team for top tips. Towns and cities close by are worth getting into the car for: start off at Ross-on-Wye (15 minutes) for boat trips along the water and a wander around the market square, then have a day in Hereford (20 minutes) to see its spectacular cathedral and copy of the Mappa Mundi. The famed Black and White Trail, 40 miles of circular route around Herefordshire’s half-timbered houses, starts and finishes at Leominster 40 minutes to the north.
