What customers say

This is a very well-located campsite, praised for its proximity to Hereford city centre (a short walk) and the River Wye, offering pleasant riverside walks. Guests consistently highlight the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities (showers, toilets, washing-up areas), and good value for money. While generally quiet and peaceful, some mention occasional noise from nearby roads. A lack of electric hook-up is noted by some, and a few found the toilet/shower facilities dated or inconveniently accessed via stairs. However, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests stating they would happily return.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely place next to the river. A 10 minute walk into town and the cathedral. Went for lunch at the yard, delish!! We went as a couple with our 2 dogs, always nice to find a dog friendly site. Toilets/showers were clean, they also had a bar which was dog friendly but we didn’t end up going. Lovely welcome from the site managers, very helpful. We would defo come again in the future, as only stayed for the 1 night and felt there was a lot more to explore and see. Also, was able to pick where we pitched, as long as we left 5 metres they weren’t fussed on where you went.

Liked Staff were very helpful. There is a nice bar and if you're lucky the young man on duty will be playing a good selection of music. Very close to city centre but also riverside walks.

Local attractions

This splendid setting close to the cathedral city of Hereford has it within a short stroll of many top Herefordshire attractions including Hereford Cathedral and the spectacular Mappi Mundi; Hereford Museum and Art Gallery; the Black and White Houses museum and the Hereford Cider Museum, all under 10 minutes' walk away. The Courtyard theatre and arts centre is within 15 minutes' walk. More top Herefordshire attractions a little further afield include the villages of the acclaimed Black and White Trail, a 40-mile circular trail around the county's half-timbered houses. The trail starts and finishes in the town of Leominster, well worth a potter around before or after the drive for its antiques and collectables (Weobley, Eardisland, Pembridge and Dilwyn are all top spots for pitstops). The gardens, parkland and 15th-century house of Hampton Court are 10 miles way, in the village of Hope under Dinmore, near Leominster. There's also the handsome riverside market town of Ross-on-Wye 14 miles away, above the Wye and with access to the Wye valley, the Forest of Dean and the popular village and famed viewpoint of Symonds Yat. Within 20 miles, browse the antique shops and many bookshops of Hay-on-Wye: buying a tome here is very much a must.
