What customers say
This campsite offers a peaceful riverside location with ample space and shade from orchard trees. Visitors appreciated the handy on-site shop, hot food availability, and canoe rentals. While most reviews highlight a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, some noted the distance to toilet facilities, paid showers, and occasional busyness with dogs not always on leads. Limited water taps were also a minor concern for some.

Absolutely loved this site.. now in my top 3!
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The Orchard is beautiful, close to the river. Well stocked shop. Firepits on the ground.. just wonderful.
Disliked The steep drop down from the site to the river is a bit of a challenge but you can walk down to the canoe hire people and launch off from there

Lovely campsite, good value, nice bar, showers need more thought
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Camping ground was nice, and had character with it's different nooks and crannies. The orchard is the busiest of the camping areas, and I was able to get a very comfortable spot. There was a friendly mix of people using the site. They provide cooked food on the weekend evenings, which was lovely and good value. Very peaceful at night, once it gets dark. There is an outdoor bar which was nice, with a good selection of drinks.
Disliked It was impossible to use the shower without getting my bag or shoes wet. When camping small things like this make a big difference. There's nowhere to keep your stuff dry in the shower, and similarly at the wasfbasins, nowhere to put your towel or wash bag. One in three nights that I stayed the floor of one of the showers was filthy with no mop to self-clean. You have to pay to use the shower, which abruptly starts when you put your money in, and when your time is up. Very easy to run out of water while you're still soaped up, at which point if you remembered to bring a second coin you'll have to leave the shower in the nude to insert another coin. Then you can't turn it off, so you'll have to wait for your
Designated time to end before you can dry off and get dressed.

My favourite campsite.
Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Love this place. We keep coming back. We park in the orchard. We walk down to the river and go wild swimming. This time, we hired a canoe, were driven upriver, and paddled back to camp. They've done the place up a little since we were last here. Nice bar area and the food is simple but very good. Shower block is clean.

Fabulous location with orchards backing right…
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Fabulous location with orchards backing right onto the River, it was perfect for taking our two toddlers paddling. Really liked the reception area / ability to order some hot food (chips for the kids!) and beverages for ourselves. We camped in the middle field - it was lovely having trees to camp beneath to provide some shade.
Disliked Only one thing to comment - the distance back to the toilets from the camping field (especially with little ones). It would be really handy to have another toilet block (or two) in the camping fields.

Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Great facilities. Fabulous location. Great on-site shop. Friendly staff. We will def be back.
Disliked Lack of water taps. There’s only one that you can fill a large water container from and it’s in the corner of the far field. There are drinking taps at the sink but we couldn’t get our water container into the sink. Not a deal breaker. The site was brilliant

Large but very busy site.
Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Plenty of fields to choose from. The shop is very handy to have.
Disliked Very busy and noisy site. Dogs not kept on leads. Every toilet seat loose and no way to dry your hands.
