  • Seven-acre camping field behind an award-winning Cotswolds country pub
  • Five minutes' drive from Westonbirt Arboretum and Highgrove House
  • Adults-only site with veg polytunnels, orchards and garden pitches
Off to the Cotswolds? How about pitching up at a classic country pub with top-notch pub grub offering a large undercover outdoor seating area complete with an outside bar? And it being only a mile from gigs and shows at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum? You'll find this all at Tetbury Camping at The Holford Arms, an adults-only site set in a spacious seven-acre green field behind the award-winning Holford Arms pub near Tetbury in the Gloucestershire part of the Cotswolds. Meals at this restored 16th-century pub have won plaudits and prizes for their quality and variety, and always feature local produce plus own-grown fruit and vegetables from the on-site polytunnels. For a real treat, you can also add into the gourmet mix a wide selection of local gins, wine, real ale and craft beer including the pub's own pilsner and IPA. Dogs are welcome to join in all the fun in the pub and on the campsite, and please note that although this is an adult-only campsite, kids are welcome in the pub and other accommodation areas so you may see some of them around the place. Simple facilities for campsite guests include hot showers and washing-up sinks.

What customers say

This tranquil orchard campsite boasts friendly, helpful staff and a charming pub serving excellent food. Pitches are well-laid-out, often private and level. While generally clean and well-maintained, the toilet and shower facilities are frequently described as dated and in need of an upgrade, with some guests noting issues with cleanliness and hot water. The location is praised for its peacefulness and proximity to local attractions.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch (six person)

Liked Spacious pitches with plenty of privacy. Cleanliness was on point.Once all of the renovations and working is complete this will be outstanding especially if it is up to the same standard as those already completed. Staff on site and I the Arms were all so friendly and knowledgeable. Food Wow!!!

Disliked Limited shower availability during peak times.

Orchard non-electric grass tent pitch (four person)

Liked Lovely site, all you need for a peaceful stay.

Disliked Showers probably need a revamp, but worked fine. Was told to park in car park if using a tent, other campers ignored this.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch (six person)

Liked Quiet, spacious level pitch and private (hedges in between). Excellent meals in the pub with very attentive staff.

Disliked Entrance not particularly obvious. A clear sign at the entrance would be helpful.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch (four person)

Liked Staff were super
Helpful and I loved the individual campervan pitches with electric hookups - found a fabulous walk that took us on a public right of way right through Westonbirt and out the other side to a fab pub - would come again due to the proximity to great walks and great pubs

Disliked The downside was all weekend there was no hot water for washing hands, pot washing and worst of all
Showering - the water coming out of the taps was Baltic - I resorted to boiling a kettle and putting in my portable karcher pressure washer - then taking that to
The shower cubicle

Local attractions

If you're not here to attend big-name gig, haste ye along to Westonbirt, The National Arboretum (five minutes' drive) anyway, as this award-winning Forestry England woodland is host to all manner of events, guided walks among 15,000 specimen trees and a challenging treetop walkway. The other famous attraction close to Tetbury Camping is Highgrove House (also five minutes), where you can take guided tours of the formal gardens and enjoy champagne teas. Historic and mellow-stone market towns like Tetbury (10 minutes) and Malmesbury (15 minutes) are also nearby, ideal for a couple of hours browsing in indie boutiques and antique shops. Slightly further afield, elegant Cheltenham (45 minutes) is home to a well-known racecourse and all manner of Regency buildings including the Pittville Pump Rooms. Prefer to explore on foot or on two wheels? Take your choice from thousands of miles' worth of footpaths and bridleways in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – follow the 102-mile Cotswold Way walking trail between Bath (35 minutes) and Chipping Campden, or take shorter hops like the five-mile Shakespeare’s Way near Chipping Norton (both an hour), taking in ancient standing stones and burial chambers.
