Camping at the holford arms

  • Seven-acre camping field behind an award-winning Cotswolds country pub
  • Five minutes' drive from Westonbirt Arboretum and Highgrove House
  • Adults-only site with veg polytunnels, orchards and garden pitches
Off to the Cotswolds? How about pitching up at a classic country pub with top-notch pub grub offering a large undercover outdoor seating area complete with an outside bar? And it being only a mile from gigs and shows at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum? You'll find this all at Tetbury Camping at The Holford Arms, an adults-only site set in a spacious seven-acre green field behind the award-winning Holford Arms pub near Tetbury in the Gloucestershire part of the Cotswolds. Meals at this restored 16th-century pub have won plaudits and prizes for their quality and variety, and always feature local produce plus own-grown fruit and vegetables from the on-site polytunnels. For a real treat, you can also add into the gourmet mix a wide selection of local gins, wine, real ale and craft beer including the pub's own pilsner and IPA. Dogs are welcome to join in all the fun in the pub and on the campsite, and please note that although this is an adult-only campsite, kids are welcome in the pub and other accommodation areas so you may see some of them around the place. Simple facilities for campsite guests include hot showers and washing-up sinks.

What customers say

This is a peaceful, attractive campsite set in orchards, offering good value. Guests praise the friendly staff and the excellent food and atmosphere at the attached pub. Pitches are generally well-defined and private. However, some visitors report that the toilet and shower facilities are basic and in need of updating, with occasional issues regarding hot water and cleanliness. Noise from functions at the pub has also been a concern for some.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch (four person)

Liked Location was excellent for cycling to near by Tetbury or Malmesbury, lots of cycle routes that keep you away from the main roads and fast traffic. Lovely site with the pub attached, excellent food, and areas to eat outside if preferred. Showers were nice and hot.

Disliked Toliet / shower block were quite grubby after a few people had been in them, they don't seem to be checked regularly for cleanliness, had to them out myself before using. Nowhere that I could see for grey waste or chemical waste disposal, asked staff and they didn't know what I was asking for really. Water filling point on the side of the track nearer the pub which could cause issues with manovering if you have a large motorhome / camper. Electric hook up points in amongst the trees, if you aren't right in front of them you will have to fight through the brambles and nettles to hook up, and if you are on pitch one or 7 you will need a 25m cable.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch (four person)

Liked This is a small and quiet site next to a lovely pub with great food , and a large covered outdoor area. The toilets and showers are good, and it’s in a lovely rural location.

Disliked Some of the electric hook up pitches are slightly enclosed, and if you have a camper and awning, I recommend taking a 25m cable to ensure you can reach your van when you get it in position.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch (four person)

Liked A great little site - pretty flat pitches, clean toilets and showers and the pub food and beer are excellent.

Disliked When we arrived at the front of the pub it looked like it had closed down. The rest of the facilities are pretty smart so might be worth the owners spending a few quid on a tin of paint to spruce the front up a bit

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch (six person)

Liked Pitch felt quite private, clean and well cared for toilet and showers. The hedges are made up of many different kinds of fruit trees - damson, plumb, apple, pears, hazelnuts, etc, which was a lovely touch and a little something extra to do, and add to dinner!

Disliked No official black waste disposal.
