Electric grass pitch

Liked: Shower cubicles were lovely. Toilets clean. They even had rabbits running around the camp site which was adorable. Was lovely and peaceful camping no disturbance.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: The sanitary facilities are primitively housed in an ugly shack, unkempt and unclean. There is only one toilet and even that is not very attractive. Mobile phone reception is extremely poor and the local wifi is only available locally and quite weak. The website looks promising, but you'll be disappointed when you get there.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: We loved seeing the chickens roaming, being surrounded by trees was also great. It felt really safe to let the children have a bit of space and freedom. Lovely clean toilets, showers and wash room.

Disliked: Pitches aren't massive so not much space to sit outside of the tent with table although we were lucky that we were able to use the next pitch because it wasn't occupied.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (no awning)

Liked: Nice private pitch surrounded by hedging. Good location with a nice pub in walking distance.

Disliked: Overflowing bins. Lack of toilet paper and no soap in the toilets. Only one toilet cubicle in the mens' toilets. Not very clean and tidy. A bit of work and TLC could turn this into a 5 star site.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Nice site and good location

Disliked: The toilets and shower weren’t very clean, and don’t think they’d been cleaned the 2 days we were there. Chemical toilet disposal point very unsafe. Was a large whole in the ground only covered with a sheet of plywood.

From the manager: you should of been told on arrival the chemical toilet was just temporary while the normal one was being repaired so im sorry about that

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Good value for money. Staff are very friendly. Nice location, close to places of interest.

Disliked: Very packed. Pitches are so close together. There's barely any space in between car and tent. Because it's packed and cars come in and go frequently, the ground can be very boggy and muddy when it rains. Not the staff's fault because it's the weather but I wish they've done something to make it less muddy like putting some reinforcements-stones or planks of woods maybe?

Local attractions

While you’re so close to Gloucester, a day of sightseeing may be one of the first things up on your itinerary. There’s Gloucester Cathedral (15 minutes' drive) and the Gloucester Docks (15 minutes) for a good dose of history and Gloucester Rugby Club in Kingsholm (10 minutes) for sporting events. Or you may wish to dine by the docks – perhaps starting with brunch after finishing with sunrise yoga on a paddleboard. Tewkesbury (15 minutes) is a historic riverside destination with medieval streets and river boat trips for more peaceful days out. Or you may prefer to board the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (half an hour) and extend your expedition with a steam train journey. Otherwise, stick around Cheltenham (20 minutes) to catch the racecourse, fine art museum and Victorian Everyman Theatre. Stow-on-the-Wold (45 minutes) and Bourton-on-the-Water (40 minutes) are other destinations to add to your Cotswolds-based relaxation itinerary.
