Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Beautiful site, surrounded by gorgeous scenery and lots of wildlife. We loved the bar serving draught beer and cider and delicious pizzas that you can enjoy outside by the pond. The owners and staff are lovely people who welcome you with a smile are available around the site to answer any questions or give tips about things to do locally.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike, apart from some fellow campers who were up late drinking and being noisy. This was our second stay and the first time we didn’t experience this, so it was just unfortunate.

Camping pod (four person, pet friendly)

Liked: Beautiful campsite, we stayed in the 4 bed camping pod with incredible views (we were lucky to see the northern lights!!) lovely roaming chickens, ducks and turkeys, a small bar serving snacks and pizza and 3 fab fishing pools! Fab deli in Coleford serves nice breakfasts (2 miles away!) location 10 mins from Symonds Yat. Highly recommend!

Disliked: A very small dislike- Push start showers, understand why they are installed, but they aren’t on long enough and need to be pressed constantly to keep water running.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Wonderful, warm, friendly welcome, not an onerous list of things you are not allowed to do! Pizza and a pint were very welcome and it just felt very relaxed from the get-go. Seemed very family run and family orientated, but also a good mixture of all ages and groups. Jake was particularly helpful and genuinely friendly.

Disliked: Having to leave too soon!

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: PAYG electric, close to some lovely woods to walk, little cafe, fire pits, lots of space and not crowded together.

Disliked: If I had to be picky, the showerheads could do with a descale.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Facilities were very clean and everything you require. The owners couldn't be more helpful. A large area so you had plenty of room to the next pitch. They have a pay what you use for electric hook up. All sites should do this!!

Disliked: A very busy main road just at the entrance. Not the most level of sites

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: This was our first trip with many things going wrong with our caravan right from our arrival. The owner (sorry we never got your name) and Jake couldn’t have been more helpful and reassuring. The site itself is in a beautiful location and is very clean and tidy, as were the shower and toilet facilities. The snug/bar had a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and apparently (although we didn’t have any) the handmade pizzas are the best around.

Local attractions

Straight from the rear of the site are several woodland walks, one of which takes guests past the Broad Stone after which Broadstone Park was named. Others cover part of Offa's Dyke and walks to Monmouth, the River Wye and local viewpoints like famed Symonds Yat: ask the site team for their faves to follow. Also in the area are heritage options like Caldicot Castle and the Clearwell Caves, and the buildings and pleasure grounds of the Kymin, highly praised by one Admiral Nelson (take the trek up to the Round House for the best views). Many other walks, cycle paths and swinging around in the trees at Go Ape are in the Forest of Dean, easily accessible from the site, and both Monmouth and Coleford are around 15 minutes' drive away for more urbanised days out.
