Liked: Definitely going back. Staff are lovely. We stayed one night, you can catch bus outside site to either Gloucester or Cheltenham. We went to Cheltenham only 5 min on the bus. Lovely evening loads of restaurants to choose from. Plus the whole site was spotless just perfect.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Everything about the site was great. Booking in took 2 minutes and directions to pitch was great. Paperwork/map of area was very precise about facilities on site, visiting Cheltenham and Gloucester and the times of buses and times. Buses to both places are right outside the site. Loos are immaculate. Site is ideally located between Cheltenham and Gloucester. A straight 10/10 from us.

Disliked: The British weather. We stayed the weekend of the big storms throughout the UK and decided to leave a day early as it continually poured with rain and miserable weather. We managed to visit Cheltenham and Gloucester between the downpours and enjoyed both.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind words and for rating us 10/10! We’re delighted to hear that you found everything to your liking, from the quick and easy check-in process to the precise information we provide about the area and bus services. It’s also great to know you appreciated our immaculate facilities and convenient location between Cheltenham and Gloucester. We're sorry the British weather didn't cooperate during your stay, but we're glad you still had the chance to explore both Cheltenham and Gloucester between the downpours. We hope your next visit will bring sunnier skies. Best Wishes, The Briarfields Team

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Good size pitch, with hedging between pitches providing a degree of privacy. Clean and warm shower block.

Disliked: Booked for location which is great for accessing both Cheltenham and the Cotswolds, but, as it's close to main roads, it can be a little noisy.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your review Andrew! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your spacious pitch and appreciated the privacy the hedging provides. It’s also great to know that our clean and warm shower block met your expectations, our team work hard to keep everything in top condition for our guests. We understand that the proximity to the main roads can sometimes lead to a bit of noise, but we’re glad the location was still convenient for exploring Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. Your feedback is really helpful. Best Wishes, The Briarfields Team

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: We are quite new to the motorhome scene but have visited quite a few parks , this one has the best toilet shower blocks we've been to , excellent. Pitch was a little bit noisy with traffic but understandable being next to a road ,it was a good size with room for dogs outside , I liked the design with hedges giving some privacy, all in all very good

Disliked: Having dogs the area around the park is not very dog friendly even though we did find a park

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Bus service , very handy for Cheltenham & Gloucester. Clean facilities Clean site

Disliked: We felt the information provided by the site was somewhat misleading. When it promised walks from the site we didn’t expected them to be next to very busy main roads…. Very unpleasant to walk next to even though most had pavements. The nearest pub ( a Harvester) was situated on a roundabout and the ten minute walk to that was scary with very heavy traffic.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review and for highlighting the convenience of the bus service and the cleanliness of our facilities and site. We are very sorry to hear that you felt the local information was misleading and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify things. We provide a detailed local map to all our guests on arrival, outlining nearby amenities, all accessible via new footpaths, pedestrian walkways and even an underpass to safely reach the Harvester. As for country walks, we have some beautiful routes that take you out into the countryside, through open fields, away from the roads, which we're sorry you haven't experienced. Our team is available every day to answer any questions or advice you may have, and we are sorry that you did not contact us during your stay, because we could have provided useful advice. Best Wishes, The Briarfields Team

Local attractions

Well. Where do we start? At least a day in Cheltenham first, we think – more if you’re coming to have a flutter at the racecourse just four miles away or jazzing it up at one of the many festivals. Catch the bus early to take in as much as poss: a morning coveting the art, furniture, crafts and jewellery at Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum, many created by Cotswold craftspeople inspired by William Morris, should build up an appetite for lunch and an afternoon of shopping around The Brewery, Bath Road and in the well-lined High Street. Harry Potter fans and the history-inclined will likely want an hour or two at medieval Gloucester Cathedral, used in the first and second films (see if you recognise the Cloisters). Away from Hogwarts, the cathedral has an award-winning exhibition centre, exhibitions and guided tours, and regular events and concerts including The Three Choirs Festival, one of the oldest classical choral music festivals in the world. The Gloucester Docks and award-winning Waterways Museum is also a good afternoon out for heritage fans, while the more modern can find plenty to occupy them at the waterside retail park Gloucester Quays. Plunge into the countryside next for a couple of days in the Cotswolds, where you’ll find acres of things to do whatever your inclination such as punting around local villages like Chipping Camden and Bourton-on-the-Water, or visiting the many museums ranging from Roman to motoring times. Wildlife options abound too, particularly for birders, with the Cotswold Falconry Centre at the Batsford Arboretum, geese and swans at Slimbridge Wetland Centre, and Birdland Park and Gardens in Bourton-on-the-Water where twitchers can see rare birds from around the world, including England’s only group of king penguins. Finally, take a day or two in the ancient Forest of Dean (Harry Potter and co ended up here too), one of the oldest woodlands in the country, to go underground at the old mines of the Clearwell Caves, hire a bike to hit the forest tracks, or, more relaxingly, take the four and a half mile trip from Lydney to Parkend on the Dean Forest Railway.
