Liked: I wanted a site close to me that was inexpensive for a last minute overnight stay and this was just the thing. It was a Friday night and there was just me and then a couple in one of the two shepherd’s huts so it was nice and peaceful. Lots and lots of picnic benches there which I always think is a bonus. A little lake which is nice. Probably the biggest selling point though is the farm shop and coffee shack next to it. Bought some lovely food there and the gentleman behind the counter was so friendly.
Disliked: This is a very minor thing and it didn’t put me off but the bin when I arrived was overflowing. Likewise the toilet bins weren’t empty and the toilets themselves needed a clean. With no other guests there when I arrived I might possibly have expected a quick clean up but never mind. I hope the owner doesn’t mind me putting that and I must stress that I had a very nice time.

Angus camping pod
Liked: We stayed in the farms Angus pod. It was warm, cosy, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The farm owners and staff were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. There was a welcoming basket with fresh bread, other supplies and milk in the fridge. The farm shop is excellent and next time I will know to get breakfast from there!

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: Very simply a field to pitch our tent in. 2 toilets and 1 shower, all spotlessly clean. Choice of fresh coffee and a breakfast bap from the food stand that was open outside the farm shop each morning if wanted. Some fantastic goodies for gifts and to take home from the farm shop. Easy walk into the village of Clowne and a great purposebuilt walk from Clowne to Cresswell Crags. We could have walked to Bolsover Castle too if we'd wanted, but we drove for 10 minutes instead. Perfectly located camp-site with basic but more than adequate facilities. We greatly enjoyed our 2 nights camping there. Thank you.

Liked: Very nice and welcoming the owners go out of their way to help you. It is their first season, so hopefully they better it in the future with showers and electric
Disliked: the fact that they haven’t got showers and electric

From the manager: Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again in the future. We do currently have one electric shower which is situated near the farm shop with a toilet currently in the process of planning for a block. In the next few weeks we will have a number of pitches with electric hook ups. Again thank you for staying with us, keep an eye on our Facebook page and we will post when all the hook ups have been installed.

Shepherd's hut
Liked: Everything! Shepherds Hut was warm, clean, well-maintained and cosy. The small details like the kettle, toaster, tea and coffee sachets, table and chairs and others really made the experience feel much more luxurious than we expected for the (very reasonable!) price. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the on-site shop is lovely and there's lots of green space for kids to run around.
Disliked: Nothing really! I could foresee problems in busy seasons due to there being only one toilet and shower but we didn't struggle.
