Sparrowhawk non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The location is near great hikes, with amazing surroundings and views. It has all the facilities you need, shower, toilets, washing up area, sockets for charging devices, campfire, all clean and in good conditions. The campsite has a cafe, a general store and there is a pub at 2 mins away, you basically don't need to go anywhere else. The staff was welcoming and helpful, the campers were peaceful. Would go back there for several nights!

Disliked Facilities a bit overwhelmed with DoE presence on site for most of stay period, so showers got a bit messy!!

scenery & location…
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked scenery & location
Disliked Minimal space for a caravan. When we left the site it was necessary to drive over someone else's plot.
Annoyingly two signs at the entrance (ice cream etc.) made it difficult to manoeuvrer.

Perfect location - good facilities
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Right in the heart of walking country. Near two lovely pubs and close to railway station. Perfect location.
Disliked It was very busy with D of E kids (100+ maybe). They were all quiet after 10pm, following camp rules well but it did make the stay feel very ‘busy’.

great campsite in a perfect location but needs rules for large groups
Grouse non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Fantastic location, lovely new facility block
Disliked We were told that D of E groups would be placed in a separate field, but on returning to our tent we found a group of about 8 tents pitched uncomfortably close to ours (even though the rest of the field was mostly empty). So close infact, that a teacher who arrived later actually almost walked into our tent, thinking we were part of the group!
While the students were well behaved and not loud, we could still hear every word they said which is not what you really want at 6am.
I guess the point I’m making is that the owners should make sure that large groups are separate from other campers as much as possible and stipulate a minimum distance between tents at the very least.
We were going to stay for another night but this spoiled our stay to the point where we decided to move on to another campsite.
