What customers say
This well-maintained campsite in a stunning Peak District location is praised for its excellent facilities, including a popular cafe and shop, and new shower block. Guests highlight the ideal base for numerous walks, friendly staff, and beautiful views. While some pitches are described as sloping and the older facilities are dated, plans for upgrades are underway. Despite occasional reports of noise and busyness during peak times, overall experiences are overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Beautiful views and really well maintained site!
Grouse non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Really enjoyed my stay at Newfold. The site is really well equipped, with a café-restaurant, shop, and brand-new toilets, all kept to a high standard. The views are absolutely stunning!
Check-in was super straightforward, and I liked being able to choose my own pitch. I stayed during a heatwave, so understandably the shaded spots were already taken, but I still managed to find a decent space for myself. There are also plenty of walks straight from the site, which is a big plus if you like exploring without having to drive anywhere.
Disliked On the downside (and this is more down to luck than the site itself), I had a night with a large DoE group on same pitch, and then- the next night ended up with just three people who managed to be far noisier than those 40 kids :) Funny how that works out sometimes - definitely just my bad camping luck rather than anything the site did wrong. And Wi-fi only worked around main building and first two sites, not where my tent was (Grouse). Had no signal at all - but that wasn't a big issue
