Excellent site with handy and clean facilities. Top notch
Sparrowhawk non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked I loved the whole site. Such a relaxing stay and the facilities were all top notch. The shower/toilet block was clean and warm and the cafe was a nice place to hang out and grab breakfast/cakes.
Will be returning here for sure, especially when camping season officially starts.
Also the pub being a mere 5 minute walk from the campsite (if that depending where you stay) was amazing.
Disliked Just the fields for camping weren't very flat, but this isnt really something that would put us off. We still had a lovely time.
WIFI was patchy depending where you were on site, however weren't there for the WIFI and it did work. So cannot complain

This is a beautiful campsite, located…
Grouse non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked This is a beautiful campsite, located right at the start of the Pennine way and in the heart of the Peak District. The location couldn't be better for hikers - with Mam Tor behind you and Kinder Scout ahead. Also with two welcoming pubs nearby and on-site cafe and general store, you have everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The facilities were well-maintained and clean, with hot showers, pot washing stations and outdoor taps to clean your muddy boots after the trails. I stayed as a solo camper in December and felt completely safe throughout my visit. Overall, ensuring that your stay is comfortable without losing that authentic outdoor feel.
One of the highlights was at night. Thanks to the lack of light pollution and buildings, you could see countless stars in the night sky. All in all, this campsite is a showcase of natural beauty.
