What customers say
This peaceful, back-to-nature campsite offers spacious, private pitches mown into a wildflower meadow, ideal for a quiet getaway. Facilities, including compost toilets and hot showers, are consistently praised for their cleanliness and eco-friendly presentation. The car-free environment and welcoming, helpful owners contribute to a relaxing and family-friendly experience. Some guests noted occasional cold showers in the morning, which the manager has addressed by implementing signage for the water heater. Despite one mention of distant road noise, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

A secluded, quiet and calm campsite.
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked I felt well informed before arrival with a nice welcome email with all the info needed. Parking and set up were clear with wagon and wheel barrow to help transport our things. We had the whole place to ourselves for two nights which was so special. Friday night saw more people arrive but everyone has so much space you still feel secluded. Toilet, shower and wash up facilities were all clean and great. Compost loos were clearly explained and easy to use. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Liked The individual mown pitches amongst the wilder meadow were charming
Lots of butterflies in the longer grass.
The cleanliness of the facilities and the thoughtfulness of the presentation and notices at the facilities building
The distance between pitches
Just perfect for my micro camper break
It was just the one night away with extended family on a nearby pitch so we just hung around the camp rather than explore further afield.

A fantastic little gem of a campsite
Non-electric grass campervan pitch
Liked Loved this site - great for a quiet break in our camper van with beautiful surroundings. Each pitch is mowed out of the wild grass. There is plenty of room and the longer wild grass makes it private. Plenty of places to walk the dog and a very good country pub (Bluebell) about 20 mins walk away through Kirk Langley with a lovely garden, pizza oven and good pub food and drinks.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (no pets)
Liked Fantastic campsite, the pitches are spaced perfectly and with your tent angled right there may as well be noone else there! Facilities were clean and plenty for a small site.
Hosts were very helpful and allowed us to park up after check out to go for a walk.

Really really lovely site, a little gem.
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (no pets)
Liked The campsite is beautiful and full of wildlife. Very peaceful and welcoming. Toilets and showers were spotless. Water / sink set up was lovely and hot water was fab. Lack of cars on site made it very safe for children. Very accommodating owners made it feel very welcoming. We may have been under the helicopter flight path for download festival drop offs, we saw loads which our 2 year old son thought was amazing. It’s a really small site so was very peaceful.
2 really good pubs within a ten min drive.
Disliked There is a road nearby that we could hear all the time, the wind was blowing from that direction which didn’t help, but we didn’t feel like we were in the middle of nowhere. But absolutely nothing the owners can do about that, purely preference.

Liked We loved every moment of our stay at this eco campsite! Such a beautiful place to camp, with the meadow in full flower and the only noise coming from a Blackcap warbling cheerfully in the hedgerow. It’s a truly wild and low-impact site and just so relaxing. The toilets, showers and washing up area were all spotless and checked regularly. Lots of walks to do in the area and the Peak District is very close too. Highly recommend this place - we will be back!
Disliked Having to leave :(
