What customers say

This is a peaceful and quiet campsite with lovely rural views and plenty of space. Pitches are generally large, level and well-maintained, with water and electric hook-up available. Visitors appreciated the friendly and helpful owners and the presence of farm animals. While facilities are described as basic, they are generally reported as clean, though some found them limited and in need of updating, particularly the single shower. The location is considered ideal for exploring the Peak District.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Beautiful peaceful close to Buxton town. The hard standing pitch was well maintained and a generous size . The facilities were clean and workable for what we needed. The host was very friendly and helpful when I spoke to him on the phone. My daughter loved waking up to all the animals. All in all a great little place which I would recommend and will definitely return.

Disliked Not a complaint as such but for me as I’m a bit clumsy , the path down to the facilities was very dark at night with no lights to guide , this was easily resolved for us with a torch.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked What a place. Exactly what we needed away from the world. Stayed 2 nights. On bay 6. Owner was so helpful as we arrived later than planned.

Theres 3 toilets and one shower. Shower amazing so hot. Was toilet roll but couldnt get it out the dispenser however we have own so no issue at all.

Not sure why theres any bad reviews as its perfect. We did bring the motorbike with us however due to weather it stayed in van.

Went and did the monsal train and the Stelling stones. 4 hour walking so beautiful and highly recommend.

Lots on animals to see and hear and site which was lovely.

We will be back

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked It was the only place open this time of year. It was nice and quiet. We had a great pitch except for the snow that came along. The farmer had to pull us out to get going. He was absolutely fantastic. Would stop here again.

Disliked The water was frozen so couldn’t use the loo or the shower. That could have been due to the minus temperatures we had.

Route directions

The entrance to the site is on Flagg Lane (not The Jarnett). There is a signpost opposite the turning for Long Field Farm and Lane End Farm Trust. Look out for the fixed sheep pens at the top of the track, then follow the lane down to the site entrance on the right and look for your numbered pitch. If you type Lane End Farm Trust into your sat nav that should take you to the campsite.

Local attractions

If your walking boots are a camping essential, take them over to the Tissington Trail for a fine 13-mile route through the Derbyshire countryside. The route commences a 25-minute drive away in Ashbourne. For a shorter trail, the Monsal Trail is 15 minutes away – it's easier on the feet with a less demanding 8.5-mile route. For adrenaline seekers, Carsington Water is half an hour’s drive away. Here, you can hire kayaking kit or try out windsurfing if you're feeling extra ambitious. If watersports aren't your strong suit, their taster sessions will help to ease you in to the relevant techniques. For other activities that will raise your heart rate, there’s an outdoor pool in Hathersage 25 minutes away and several indoor pools within a 25-minute drive. Further afield, take a whirl on the rollercoasters at Alton Towers, a 40-minute drive away and with plenty to fill a full day. At Matlock Farm Park (30 minutes), a collection of cute animals should keep kids entertained; they can give horse riding a go too or gently feed the lambs if they're seeking some quieter time.
