Liked Beautifully maintained site. Great facilities, modern and clean. Fantastic walks in all directions from the site so car was not used for the duration of our 4 night stay. Great pubs nearby at Chelmorton, Taddington and Monyash. Lovely little farm shop 10 minutes walk away. Oh….and the price was great too.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (adults only)

Liked The facilities are fabulous, modern and well kept. The pitches are not allocated but you are reminded to leave a 6m distance. The hot food served was marvelous and the owner very welcoming and helpful.

Disliked Should I visit again, I know not to set up near the through traffic road. Not sure why people where still coming and going after midnight and at quite a speed. It would have been nice to see the owners out and about to chat to and then maybe they would have heard 2-3 of the dogs that was constantly yapping.

Liked Great stay as usual. Owners promptly sorted out an issue with a large group of teenagers who'd snuck onto the site as seperate parties.

Disliked Idiotic folk who have no respect for others, the level of entitlement is astounding but sadly not surprising these days.....

What customers say

This campsite is praised for its friendly staff, clean facilities, and beautiful countryside location. Visitors highlight the excellent toilet and shower blocks, convenient on-site shop, and delicious pizza. Many appreciate the spacious pitches and the choice of adult-only or family fields. While some mention the fields can be sloping, this is often seen as typical for the Peak District. The peaceful atmosphere and proximity to walking routes are consistently rated highly.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (family)

Liked Great site. Lovely clean facilities and the breakfast takeaway is great!

Disliked Its a shame the site is quite hilly. On friday I watched lots of new arrivals driving in and going straight up to the top field before coming back out looking a bit annoyed because it was full and setting up in the middle of the field where there's a dip and so a bit flatter. Everyone wants to camp on the edge and its just too much of a slope in some parts.

Local attractions

Those of you who want to glide past the sloping Peak District countryside can get started on the Tissington Trail (10 minutes’ drive). The old railway track is suited to wheels or walking boats, and the historic setting will get you ready for more historical sites… Those include Chatsworth House (20 minutes) and its peaceful grounds, excellent for a picnic and a walk, and the Nine Ladies stone circle (20 minutes). Legend has it each stone was once a lady punished for dancing on a Sunday. You may soon be dancing yourself - even on a Sunday - after a tour of Buxton (15 minutes) or Bakewell (15 minutes). Both characterful Peak District towns are packed with pubs, restaurants and cafés, and of course, in Bakewell, the speciality is Bakewell tarts. Down Chatsworth House way is Chesterfield (35 minutes) too – a destination for all things theatre, golfing and gourmet eats – but further on, it’s easy enough to get to Alton Towers (45 minutes) for a thrills-geared day.
