  • Simple, peaceful Peak District site a mile from Youlgreave
  • A 15-minute drive to Bakewell; 20 minutes to Chatsworth Estate
  • Member price shown; non-members select £5/night extra
If it's Peak District views you're after, book in at Bakewell Camping and Caravanning Club Site, in a gorgeous spot about 15 minutes' drive from the town that gives its name to the much-loved tart and pudding (which you can sample at local bakeries to help fuel your hikes…). A mile away is the village of Youlgreave, which has a couple of pubs, a bakery and bus stops to help you explore the area by public transport. Being in the Peak District National Park there are, of course, lots of trails around for walking and cycling, and you'll be able to visit places like Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and Heights of Abraham. Dogs are welcome on site, and there are designated dog walking trails around for those times when you're not ready for a longer hike. This site is managed by the Camping and Caravanning Club, with pitches available for both members and non-members. Members benefit from a discounted rate (shown here), so make sure you choose the correct membership option on your booking. This is a simple site, with just a food shop, a play area and a chemical disposal point on the facilities front; please note there are no toilets or showers on site. That means you'll need to be self-sufficient with bathroom facilities – but you'll be rewarded with a truly peaceful atmosphere and a real sense of escape from modern life.
