Take a look at Buzzard Holt Hosting, just outside the Buckinghamshire village of Chackmore. This is a fabulously peaceful pop-up site with plenty of space to relax in its four-acre meadow, flanked by woodland that provides shelter, attractive views and a habitat for the wildlife that you might spot around the place. The emphasis here is on nature and the outdoor lifestyle (you’re welcome to light barbecues and campfires here for your alfresco evening), but you won’t be going completely wild as there are facilities including showers, toilets and wifi. The relaxed rural vibe here is pretty enticing – but so is the fact that you can walk to the village pub in about five minutes for a cosy meal or a cool pint of something. Equally excellent is the chance to walk to one of the area’s top attractions: the National Trust’s Stowe Gardens is about a 20-minute stroll away. For other days out, you might look to the Silverstone Circuit, Bletchley Park or the area’s many walking and bike trails. On a practical front, there are shops, supermarkets and places to eat in Buckingham (five minutes’ drive) and the site has its own little cash-only farm stall stocked with fresh eggs, snacks, milk and logs/charcoal for your fires and barbecues.

Liked Pleasant and welcoming staff. Good amenities/facilities. Left to own devices with no interruptions.

Disliked Only managed to find 3 toilets and they were often quite busy - feels like the site would benefit from more.
