What customers say
This campsite is praised for its **spacious pitches, beautiful natural surroundings and abundant wildlife**. Visitors highlight the **exceptional hospitality and helpfulness of the host**, who went out of his way to ensure a comfortable stay. The **"back to basics" and eco-friendly ethos** are appreciated, with free use of BBQ/fire pits and reasonably priced wood. The **entrance and signage are also noted as inadequate, posing potential safety concerns** on a busy road. Efforts are underway to address these access and facility issues.

Really lovely place ( a little gem) and the host is a really nice guy.
Non-electric grass motorhome or tent pitch
Liked There is a lot to like about this place, if you don’t mind being back to basics. The pitch size is massive and wild, so we saw so many grasshoppers and butterflies, the bird life is amazing too.
The host is really lovely, communication was great and there wasn’t anything that was too much trouble for him. As it was super hot he offered to bring us more water, he also gave the kids carrots for his lovely friendly horse boyo. If you want quiet, back to basics and beautiful nature around you this is your place!
Disliked The field could do with running water. Being picky here

Small quirky campsite with a small eco footprint and a fantastic host!
Non-electric grass motorhome or tent pitch
Liked The host! What a guy.
Chose to camp here on a super stormy night and unfortunately the storm started lifting a tin panel from the roof of a structure near to our pitch. He came over concerned and instantly upgraded us to one of the pre pitched canvas tents even though he could have just asked us to move our tent.
The canvas tent was great - really cosy with a double bed, seating area and fairy lights. We had such a comfy nights sleep!
There are a small selection of bbq/fire pits you can use free of charge also, and you can buy wood etc at a really decent price from the host.
I also really love how small of an eco footprint this campsite has too - it’s basic and bare bones but really charming and quirky. Personally that’s why I camp!
The surrounding scenery is beautiful also, and there’s plenty of outdoorsy things to do around the local area.
Disliked Cannot fault this place of the host!

Liked I didn’t stop laughing from the minute I arrived to the second I left, a very welcoming visit from the site manager and what a guy he is !! He really didn’t mind ! Nothing was of any bother to him and enjoyed the pleasant conversation 👌
A pleasant spot to enjoy what nature really has to offer :)
Disliked I’d like to suggest to opening up the entrance and moving the gate, just to ease access for larger vehicles. Also a couple signs down the road A148 to locate it would be amazing 👌

Overall we had a lovely stay. We will be back with more friends.
Non-electric grass motorhome or tent pitch
Liked The peace, tranquility and location made this an excellent spot to get away from it all for a few days. We saw deer and many birds of prey which was awesome! The bed in the pre-set up tent was sooo comfortable! Dean couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating during our stay which we really appreciated. We loved the laid back vibes and the ethos of what they are working towards here and look forward to coming back.

Was OK stay for what we needed 👌
Non-electric grass motorhome or tent pitch
Liked Very peaceful staff friendly was a little shop didn't use it so bot sure what there
Disliked Entrance to the campsite is concealed and not the best to get off as its a busy road and your turning straight of it into the gate entrance. You have to open a broken gate so it's heavy to lift and open to then have to drive I'm close gate turn around to get up the section you need. Read in previous reviews tickets were basic and eco friendly but could of done with better privacy than shower curtain and are unisex with men and woman being in the same bit together felt like no privacy to go. No drinking water available for us to make drinks up ect was very disappointed about this !

From the manager: From the manager… Thanks for your feedback — we’re glad the peaceful atmosphere and friendly welcome made your stay comfortable for what you needed. We appreciate you mentioning the little shop too, even if you didn’t get a chance to use it!
We’re sorry the entrance and facilities didn’t meet your expectations. You’re absolutely right about the gate and signage — we’re actively working with local authorities to secure planning permission for a safer, more visible entrance that’s easier to navigate.
As for the toilets, we’ve chosen an eco-friendly setup to reduce our environmental impact, but we understand that privacy and comfort are essential. We’re exploring ways to improve the layout and add clearer signage to help guests feel more at ease. Drinking water access is also on our radar — we’re reviewing how best to provide a reliable supply for all guests.
Thanks again for your honest review — it helps us improve and shape a better experience for future campers.
Warm regards, Dean and Naz
Its a field you can camp in and little more
Non-electric grass motorhome or tent pitch
Liked A field with the ability to have fires and lots of space
Its green and the onsite staff were friendly
Disliked The toilets and washing facilities were extremely poor, just as many others have mentioned.
The on-site water was only provided in bottles, which were often empty by the morning.
There’s absolutely no reason an eco toilet should be this unpleasant or uncomfortable.
The entrance and signage were also inadequate, given the road speed its an accident waiting to happen.
I am actually fine roughing it camping but when things provided are this bad they might as well not be there.
Its a field you can camp in not a campsite.

From the manager: From the manager… Thanks for your honest and detailed feedback, Jacob. We’re glad you appreciated the open space, fire-friendly setup, and our team’s welcome — those are core parts of what we aim to offer at Nature’s Rest Farm.
We hear you loud and clear on the facilities and signage. As an eco-focused site, we’ve chosen composting toilets and minimal infrastructure to reduce environmental impact, but we fully accept that the current setup isn’t working well for everyone. Your suggestion about building a simple structure with locking doors is a practical one, and it’s something we’re actively exploring as part of our improvement plans.
Regarding the entrance, we completely agree it needs attention. We’re currently working with local authorities to secure planning permission for a safer, more visible access point — especially important given the road speed and family use.
We appreciate your candid comments — they help us grow, and we’re committed to making meaningful changes while staying true to our values.
Warm regards, Dean and Naz
We saw Kites Buzzards and Kestrels.…
Non-electric grass motorhome or tent pitch
Liked We saw Kites Buzzards and Kestrels.
Disliked The entrance is hard to find. W3W is slightly.boating.dives. Access through the gate was difficult and the track to the camp area would be impassible in a motorhome or car+caravan or a car with low ground clearance. We were disappointed to find there is no access to any public footpaths or hikes from the site. Note there is no water supply on site.

From the manager: From the manager… Thank you for your feedback — we’re so pleased you enjoyed the wildlife! Seeing Kites, Buzzards, and Kestrels is one of the real joys of staying at Nature’s Rest Farm, and we’re glad they made an impression.
We’re sorry the entrance and access didn’t meet your expectations. You’re absolutely right — the current track isn’t suitable for all vehicles, and we’re actively working with local authorities to secure planning permission for a safer, more accessible entrance. We’re also reviewing our signage and directions to make arrival smoother for future guests.
Regarding footpath access and water supply, we appreciate the heads-up. While we’re a back-to-basics eco site, we’re exploring ways to better support walkers and ensure a reliable water source for all campers.
Your private feedback is taken to heart — we’re committed to making the experience match the promise of the website, and your comments help guide that journey.
