Cabin
Liked We spent two nights at this lovely, cosy and secluded camp which, although not far from the real world felt remote and very private. Being off-grid is great for really switching off but the sneaky fridge, toaster and microwave in the shed, along with opportunity to charge is also welcome. The cabin is really comfortable and well stocked with a proper bed and wood burner for chilly nights. The living / kitchen area is open to the front so really has that camping feel which we really liked. We were lucky enough to see the deer herd briefly and lots of other wildlife, this really is a special place. Re the airport, yes you can hear the planes, but they don't fly directly overhead and they slow right down in the evening and overnight, we weren't bothered by any noise at all.
Communication with Olly and Dee was friendly and super helpful. We have recommended already and would definitely come again!

Liked We had a wonderful weekend at Netherfield Farm. This is proper off-grid camping at its best, the campsite is a huge field with plenty of room and the eco-loos and bag showers served their purpose perfectly adequately - we loved the feeling of showering outdoors! Admittedly we had glorious weather and the water in the bag shower had heated to a lovely warm temperature but you could always boil a kettle to get it to a comfortable temperature. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming, we bought a big bag of fire wood for a fiver which lasted the weekend.
This campsite is amazing for walking, we walked for several hours from the site, through woods and wildflower meadows - it was beautiful countryside and no need to get back in the car once you're there. Pub with great food is walking distance away, as well as village shop / tea room which was also lovely. Some people have mentioned the track and yes, it is bumpy but it just added to the feeling of being really remote, I have an ordinary car and with several adults and a lot of camping gear, we managed fine with no scrapes. Re the phone signal, we actually really like being out of range and having a break from it all, but you could definitely get a signal at the top of the field if you really needed to.
Lots here as well for wild-life lovers, it may not be to everyone's liking but we pitched at the back of the field near the woods and the dawn chorus was incredible!
My only suggestion for an otherwise idyllic stay, is to get some solar powered lights in the eco loos so that you can see the guidance and manage them properly!
We will definitely return to Netherfield Farm and have already recommended to friends.
