Non-electric forest floor tent pitch
Liked We stopped bye for a weekend in Aug 2026 and absolutely loved this wee place. This is probably as close to wild camping as you can get…. but with some facilities and home comforts (and even some luxuries) thrown in! Remote location (whilst only being a stone throw from the shops and town) with gorgeous scenery. The track up to the site is rough but if you take it slowly, most cars will be totally fine. Bring a torch, it gets properly dark at night! Wild forest camping with freedom to pick your own area to pitch up. Facilities are basic and everything you’d need that adds to the experience with extras available like a BBQ, open fires allowed (wood and Swedish torches for sale), possibility of lovely home made food to buy if pre arranged (we unexpectedly got a freshly caught cooked lobster to go with our mac n cheese) also things like fresh farm eggs for sale. Humphrey & Evie and their family are absolutely lovely and so accommodating. The campsite is on a croft with lots of lovely farm animals nearby, the kids will love feeding the pigs. This is not your every day camp site, but we loved it. Might not be suitable for very large tents. Would be absolutely cracking for hammock camping. We hope to visit again. Thanks folks.
