Liked That we finally got our money back

Disliked The campsite was advertised as having a swimming pool, a snack bar and being by a lake. None of these things were true. When we arrived the campsite was still being built. I arrived and the friendly receptionist showed me a bill stating that they hadn't actually taken any money yet, so if we wanted to change our mind that was fine. As the campsite was actually a noisy building site, we said that would probably be best. Later that day, I got an email saying that as we had booked through Pitchup they were unable to refund and we had to contact them. I knew that Pitchup would not take any responsibility, so I went back to the campsite 2 days later to request a refund. I got the same response. Pitchup takes no responsibility for advertising scam campsites, and makes it incredibly difficult to contact them, and they don't take responsibility for complaints. Eventually Pitchup agreed to 'act as a mediator' and only after threatening to take my evidence to the authorities I finally got my money back. Pitchup, of course, did not refund the deposit they had taken. Not only do I not recommend this campsite because they are misleading (to say the least), I would also not recommend using Pitchup.
