Electric grass pitch
Liked Relatively small site in comparison to some notable places but not overly busy. We stayed during August bank holiday weekend and there wasn't that many on site. This made it very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Great countryside views as well. Owners were friendly and were available if we needed but rarely seen them as they left you to it which is a nice touch. The location is great with local towns easy to reach like Buxton, Bakewell, Chatsworth house, Matlock etc. this being our prime reason for selecting this spot to camp for our weekend
Disliked The toilet and shower facilities are very basic and although cleaned daily, due to their design didn't stop bugs from making a home in the corners of the shed-style facility. I didn't shower over the two nights because of this. My sat nav tried to take me via the farm onto the campsite but you need to go all the way around. Whilst there are a couple of yellow sign posts i think better directions and signage could help future campers find it easier. The field in use is on a slight slope. Whilst not a deal breaker it is something worth considering especially if tenting. The electric hook-ups did not like much power at all. Running a low powered kettle and then a low powered heater for example would trip it and we had to use one thing at a time to avoid tripping it.
