Disliked We booked a stay at Kenilworth Rugby Ground at least two weeks in advance with an arrival time of 12 onwards. We arrived at 1.30 to find that there was a match on and the carparks were full, plus another match was to start straight after. There was no place to park. We rang the number supplied and spoke to a member of staff who was on holiday in Scotland. She suggested that we drive away and come back later. We didn't want to do this as it would necessitate another parking fee somewhere else and we had planned to park up at the Rugby club and walk into town and to the castle. She then said, twice, "Well it is a Rugby club". We asked why a place hadn't been reserved for us considering we had paid in advance. Our request for some form of financial renumeration was turned down. With a good deal of careful maneuvering, and moving some bricks, we managed to squeeze into a space tight against a set of large metal gates leading to a building yard. Fortunately we are in a 5.4m van. There were two matches on that afternoon the carpark thinned out later that evening. I should have taken more notice of other reviews, £20 a night is too much for such a basic stop over especially when there is no guarantee that a pitch will be reserved for you.
