Stage three of the Tour of Britain takes in all of the sights from Newtown to The Tumble, passing through the beautiful town of Hay-on-Wye on the way. Powys Pods in Hay-on-Wye is a rural retreat in the Welsh marches which offers an alternative to the traditional camping experience without losing the back-to-nature appeal.

The Allt Ddrew camping pod sleeps up to two adults and two children. Includes a heater, electric points and a lamp in the unit, with toilet/shower units and washing-up area just a few steps away.

Wootton Park – Warwickshire, from £25pppn

Its cosy pods feature everything from bedding to bathrobes and bacon baps - resulting in a no-drama outdoor stay.

Camping pods sleep two adults, two children and include one double bed with memory mattress, colourful bedding, towels, bathrobes, mirror, hangers, hairdryer, tea/coffee-making facilities. Breakfast in the farmhouse is also included in the price. Woodchip paths lead to the 'Monsoon pod' (shower, toilet and wash basin), barbecue area with tables and chairs for sitting/eating out.
