Lodges with hot tub
There’s so, so much to love about a holiday in a log cabin, or a family lodge holiday for folk who need a tad more space. There’s the gorgeous surroundings, of course – these sorts of places tend to be set up in the world’s prettier parts, with lovely views, wildlife spottings and peace and quiet as standard features. And of course the fact that you can, generally speaking, afford to travel pretty light – with most of the kit thrown in, there’s no need to clatter up the motorway with the kitchen sink in tow here.
On top of that, there’s the (perhaps a little smug) feeling that you’re getting the best of both worlds: an evening under the stars, watching the sun go down as you poke a marshmallow into the campfire, followed by comfy slumbers in a cosy, warm place to stay.
Sold on the idea of a log cabin holiday yet? If you need one more little thing to complete the picture, how about a decadent stay in a lodge with a hot tub? Frankly, we all need a bit of pampering from time to time – and log cabin stays are an excellent way to sort yourself a luxury break, with the added bonus of lashings of fresh air.
How to pick a lodge holiday with a hot tub
Many associate a lodge holiday as being expensive, but it doesn’t have to be, in fact there are various ways to keep costs low:
Take a look at each individual listing to find out their individual setup. If the lodge is located near several others they often have a shared hot tub so you may have to book a time or share with others. Handily they’re likely to be like-minded souls so you might just make some new pals. Particularly eco-friendly places tend to create their hot water with a wood-fired setup, so bear in mind you’ll need to tip the lodge site off ahead of your planned soak (it’s no fun in tepid waters…)
Or you may like to up the luxury factor a little further by checking out lodge holidays with a spa either onsite or nearby. Facilities vary from place to place, of course, but if you really need a bit of help to relax it makes sense to pick somewhere where you can also steam in a sauna and be pummelled by a massage alongside your whirlpool time.
Finally, if you’re not keen on sharing, or want to make your stay truly top-notch, there’s also the ultimate fix: a lodge holiday with a private hot tub. Yes, you’ll probably have to shell out a few more pennies for one of these, but bubbling away in your own private open-air hot tub with your beloved by your side and a glass of bubbles in hand… that’s the kind of life experience it’s worth investing in.
