Lowick, Cumbria, England
Primitive grass and earth RV campsite
Liked Great value with views and excellent location for exploring the lakes.
Open field to setup where ever you want. Free fire pit and toilets were portable toilets that worried us but the owner visited every couple of hours to keep immaculate. Any road noise subsided early on to make it nice and peaceful.
A great site.

Primitive grass and gravel campervan campsite (basic)
Liked An up and coming site new this year with plenty of potential.
Owners really nice with great clean spacious toilets.
Some friendly donkeys to pass the time watching.
Local pub very nice and would suggest booking early.
Great sunset view and loads of trees to see wildlife.
Disliked Toilet door locks a little hard. Could do with a little bit of work for those lacking in strength.
Hose attached to tap. I prefer to use my own food hygiene safe. Perhaps another tap for awkward people like me.
Pitch could benefit from optional electric hookups.

Best wishes louis & diana 😊😊

Liked Clean and tidy. Nice pub and owners
Disliked To improve could be wider on the entry for caravan. Shower and chemical waste point are needed

From the manager: Thank you for visiting and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. The gate is wide for anyone reading this as would not like anyone to think there are access issues. I have personally had an eight wheel 20T Tipper Lorry through the gate as well as a 36T Digger so a caravan is not an issue. We also had a large RV access last year who had booked to camp with us, so in the 13 years we have been at the pub I have never had a vehicle that could not access. We don't offer showers or chemical disposal points, our EA Discharge licence does not permit this and as the maximum stay with us is 3 nights (4 on a bank holiday weekend) then we don't foresee this as an issue. We offer as we advertise, no more no less. If anyone looking to book wants more facilities than we can offer then please don't book to stay at our campsite as we genuinely hate to have dissatisfied guests when we do our upmost to be totally transparent with our offerings ahead of anyone booking a stay with us. Best Wishes Sophie.

Liked Very clean and tidy site.
Disliked Rules were a little bit too thrust for my liking. I appreciate that the owner has had previous issues but it felt a little too much on arrival.
Payment for electric not included despite the price per pitch at 35p per kWh

From the manager: Hello Thanks for your review Much appreciated I'm very sorry it's only 32p per kwh it is stated on pitch up before you book. Thank you Wayne

Liked Great clean site with fabulous helpful owners. They are working on more facilities but it’s all great at the moment. Easy access to loads of beaches and historic places.
Disliked Nothing about the site, just wish the people on site would respect the facilities and not let their kids cause issues for the owners.

Liked Excellent facilities clean. nice and central to sites in Cheshire and North Wales. Site management very kind of a friendly. Beautiful views. The only minor issue is heating required in the bathrooms.
Disliked The only minor issue is heating required in the bathrooms.

From the manager: Hi Matt, Thanks for the review. The bathrooms do have heaters in each side and are sully insulated. It wouldn't matter if we had a log burner given the sky lights and windows are always slighly open for ventilation / remove the steam from the showers. Will have a think and see if there's anything else we can do. Cheers, D

Liked Nic and close to the RAF base, lots of jets.
Disliked Toilet lights, door locks not working and no toilet paper provided. Swimming pool not heated currently. Water points not clear or signed. Unfortunately the site had transferred ownership and the first day of our stay was the new owners first week. It’s a promising site and I truly hope that the new owners resolve the issues
