What customers say

This friendly, small campsite boasts a beautiful rural setting. Guests rave about its closeness to the beach, pubs, and on-site farm shop. Owner Rebecca is consistently praised as welcoming and helpful. While fire pits are available and facilities are usually clean, some noted road noise and flies. Busy periods may see issues with pitch conditions or limited facilities.

Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Nice space, cosy, good natural wind protection. Great facilities with hot water. Campfire available to hire. Walking distance to a pub and the beach.

Owner sent text on the day with additional details including a revision to the rules allowing the car to be kept on to the pitch.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Small and friendly site in a beautiful location. Good access routes to other local cities paces of interest. Rebecca was friendly and very accommodating. I was supporting adults with additional needs, and we were all made very welcome. We had 2 electric hookups for our 2 tents, which were absolutely perfect. Definitely be back… hopefully next time in a cabin!!

Liked Easy access to Scarborough

Disliked No answer from the owner on arrival left standing in the rain until we found some one to speak to then be put on a pitch with dog poo on. Electrics on site do not work properly can't even charge a phone with out it tripping owner blames other campers for it tripping owner also has her dog walking around off lead

From the manager: I refer to your Review. You say you were left waiting in the rain ? It was dry I saw you arrive & i sent my very experienced & friendly handyman to your pitch & to advise where to hook into the electrical box as you were unaware of how to do this!My Site has a full electrical certificate & this was issued this June 2025 so i know there was nothing wrong with my hook up boxes & these had recently been inspected& passed.Sadly you continued to over load 10amp socket - it kept tripping. This is a safety feature on the box &cuts out other users .This was of great annonyance to other campers.Despite your poor electrical equipment I allowed you & your wife to use a nearby Glamping Pod to use the kettle
Watch tv
Charge your ph &
Use your computer to work from Site.Considering your grumpy manner & inconsiderate behaviour (&much to the embarrassment of your wife) I was consistently helpful to you & your party & your wife thanked me profusely .We allow dogs on Site& inspect the field daily for poo, when you notified me I came immediately & removed it & I also gave you some poo bags for your dog .Im so sorry you didnt enjoy your time with us, most of our customers love the Site,in particular the clean facilities , good pitch size & location.Im so sorry we didnt meet your expectations on this occaision. The Paddock Campsite Redcliffe Lane YO11 3NT

Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The campsite is in a great location. A short walk on a cycle path / pedestrian path right to Cayton beach.
There is a lovely farm shop, cafe and bike hire right next door. The bike hire is really affordable and Bob the owner is lovely.
There's a pub and 24 hour garage just down the road and we used both.
The site itself is small but they don't overcrowd the pitchups and there was plenty of space.
All very quiet after 10pm and we all had good nights' sleeps.
The owner works super hard to keep the site clean and well kept. The showers and toilets were cleaned very often.
Fire pits are allowed.

Disliked The only niggle was the number of flies - they are horrendous. I guess the owner can't really do anything about this but if you do go to this site, I recommend you taking some fly spray / fly papers to keep the flies off your food and out of your tent.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Another lovely visit to a lovely little site. The lovely owner is there to greet you on arrival and always available to help if you need her. The site is child and dog friendly but still a quiet site. It has everything you need for a comfortable camping holiday and the beach is just a 15 minute stroll away.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Small friendly campsite in a rural location.
Shower block looks relatively new, with six clean wet rooms.
Great location, pub & spar shop in less than a 10 min walk. 30 mins walk to the beach in cayton bay, roughly £9 in an uber to Scarborough.
Friendly owner who will do a bacon & egg butty on a morning.

Disliked Some of the positives come with negatives, the size of the site means there isnt much room for kids to run about- so tire them out at the beach! The pub also has a playground so that's an excuse for a pint.
The rural location meant that there were a lot of flies there when we visited, so go prepared with insect repellent.

Local attractions

This is a most handy spot for getting out to a couple of North Yorkshire’s most loved seaside towns, so plan for days at the beach and animal park in Filey or taking in the castle, Sea Life Centre and Alpamare waterpark in Scarborough (before hitting the beach again, of course). Both are around a 10-minute drive away. For another view on the coast, grab your binoculars and wander quietly to see what’s in residence at RSPB Bempton Cliffs seabird centre (20 minutes’ drive). Or for some days away from the shoreline, head out to meet the creatures at Playdale Farm Park (10 minutes), sample Yorkshire’s first single malt at Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery (15 minutes) or try out the inflatable course and all manner of watersports at North Yorkshire Water Park (20 minutes). Fancy leaving the car behind for the day? Stash the keys somewhere safe and set forth on foot for Cayton Bay beach, Scarborough Fair Collection & Vintage Transport Museum or a dip at Flower of May swimming pool – all are about 15 minutes away on foot.
