What customers say
This well-kept site is perfect for walkers and cyclists near the Tissington Trail. Guests love the friendly staff, clean amenities (indoor pool, playground), and spacious sites. Glamping pods and bell tents are a hit for comfy stays. A few notes: some facilities are a bit of a walk, and shower cleanliness/availability can be inconsistent.

Liked Facilities
Disliked My parents recently stayed in one of the camping pods and while the site itself is nice and the pod was acceptable, they was very disappointed with the overall experience. The pod had its own toilet and shower, which was fine, but the surrounding environment made the stay uncomfortable.
All the neighbouring pods appeared to be part of the same group, and there were around five dogs roaming freely without supervision. On top of that, the children in the group were behaving in a disruptive and unsafe manner — leaving rubbish everywhere, attempting to break fences, and repeatedly throwing the dogs’ ball towards us and our dog. This meant we couldn’t let our own dog off the lead at all, which defeated the purpose of choosing this type of holiday.
The situation became so unpleasant that we ended up coming home early. Overall, the behaviour of the other guests significantly impacted what should have been a relaxing break.
I would like this to be treated as a formal complaint and the cost for the additional night that had not been stayed to be refunded.

Disappointing & poorly maintained, a basic setup not a premium site.
Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (no awning)
Liked The pitch was a descent size and the location to the Tissington trail.
Disliked The shower and toilet facilities were extremely disappointing. There were very limited numbers available, and the overall standard was poor. It felt more like a large festival setup than a higher-priced touring site.
The facilities were not properly maintained—cleanliness was lacking, the floors were muddy, and the showers frequently blocked within seconds of use. Considering the cost of our stay (£180, plus an additional £10 for the awning, which I paid over the phone), the experience did not reflect good value. I’m also unsure whether this additional awning charge was applied consistently to all guests.
As a family, we have stayed at many sites that offered significantly better standards for half the price. The issue for us is not the cost itself, but the level of quality provided. Unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed, as it seemed that little care or attention had been given to the touring facilities.

Excellent site, great value and location.
Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked A gem of a site, big pitch, fabulous, clean facilities and right on the Tissington Trail, lovely pub within walking distance.
Disliked Touring pitches right next to the play park, so quite noisy.
No WiFi to touring pitches.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Right on the limestone way, toilet block was warm and clean, easy walk along Tissington trail to a local pub. Staff very friendly.
Disliked The pitch was muddy - it had been wet and churned up by, presumably, a campervan. This was particularly disappointing on the first day of a multi day hike, as it proved impossible to stop mud getting on the rest of the tent when packing away.
The pitch by the road was occasionally noisy - both from vehicles and people walking past.

Definitely going back! For longer next time
Camping pod (ensuite)
Liked Gorgeous site. Well kept. Very clean! The staff went above and beyond, were welcoming and so helpful.
Disliked Really nit picking, but just a couple of hooks to hang things on in the pod would be great but absolutely nothing major!

Could be nice with better designed and cleaner washing facilities.
Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Well placed near Dovedale and Tissington Trail. Good playground for the children.
Disliked Tourer pitch we were first offered was a very uneven mud patch. Eventually managed to get a different pitch. Still a bit uneven and muddy but OK. Toilet block not good. Ladies side dirty and smelly needing more regular cleaning. Both ladies and gents cold with no hot water day one. Even when heating back on, hot water never actually hot. At best comes through warm. When using sinks, nowhere to hang a towel or clothes. When using shower cubicles they are small with just one clothes hook close to the shower so clothes and shoes get wet when you use the shower.
Dish washing area outside would benefit from a light.

Great! Would go again.
Camping pod (ensuite)
Liked Pool is great. The staff are all so helpful. The pods are really good value and all get their own shower and toilet.
Disliked The sheets always come off the bed. Take an extra pillow as they are very thin.
