What customers say
This tidy site's a great base for exploring the Tissington Trail. Guests love the friendly staff, clean facilities (pool, playground), and roomy pitches. Glamping pods & bell tents are a hit for a comfy stay. A few minor points: some facilities are a walk from pitches, and showers can sometimes be tricky.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Right on the limestone way, toilet block was warm and clean, easy walk along Tissington trail to a local pub. Staff very friendly.
Disliked The pitch was muddy - it had been wet and churned up by, presumably, a campervan. This was particularly disappointing on the first day of a multi day hike, as it proved impossible to stop mud getting on the rest of the tent when packing away.
The pitch by the road was occasionally noisy - both from vehicles and people walking past.

Definitely going back! For longer next time
Camping pod (ensuite)
Liked Gorgeous site. Well kept. Very clean! The staff went above and beyond, were welcoming and so helpful.
Disliked Really nit picking, but just a couple of hooks to hang things on in the pod would be great but absolutely nothing major!

Could be nice with better designed and cleaner washing facilities.
Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Well placed near Dovedale and Tissington Trail. Good playground for the children.
Disliked Tourer pitch we were first offered was a very uneven mud patch. Eventually managed to get a different pitch. Still a bit uneven and muddy but OK. Toilet block not good. Ladies side dirty and smelly needing more regular cleaning. Both ladies and gents cold with no hot water day one. Even when heating back on, hot water never actually hot. At best comes through warm. When using sinks, nowhere to hang a towel or clothes. When using shower cubicles they are small with just one clothes hook close to the shower so clothes and shoes get wet when you use the shower.
Dish washing area outside would benefit from a light.

Great! Would go again.
Camping pod (ensuite)
Liked Pool is great. The staff are all so helpful. The pods are really good value and all get their own shower and toilet.
Disliked The sheets always come off the bed. Take an extra pillow as they are very thin.

Camping pod
Liked Loved the pods, lovely staff and facilities, also very close to many of Peak District’s main attractions.
Only thing is the beds could be a bit more comfy.
Disliked Bed mattresses aren’t the best

Great site for walkers/trekkers.
Camping pod (ensuite)
Liked Great location, minute walk to the Tissington Trail. Pods were great for families, staff are friendly, swimming pool on site (would recommend booking all your slots on the day of arrival). The private ensuite was perfect and own washing up facilities located just at the back of your pod.
Disliked The beds are really uncomfortable, instead of a protective sheet the mattresses have plastic protective stitched in the bed which is awful, the beds were made on arrival with a flat bed sheet but the moment you turned over in the bed the flat sheet comes off the bed really uncomfortable and terrible night sleep. The ensuite private toilet each time we went there was loads of water which could have only been coming from the toilet, when we checked out we mentioned it and was told ‘that was only resealed this week’ we was never told when checking in, had we have known there was a possible issue we could have made them aware it was still a problem.
