  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids on site
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

Liked The camp site was tidy and the pitches were big. It was quiet at night times. The toilets and showers were ok for a quick shower. They were clean but a little run down, however it did not ruin our visit as we were hardly in there.

Disliked Smell of the septic tank ever so often. That does need looking into.

Liked The pitches are big & well maintained. Staff very friendly & helpful. Many toilets and showers which are clean. The pot washing areas have hot water! Very chilled site & good vibes. My 7 & 11 year old loved how much room they had to play, we have already booked to come back.

Disliked WiFi isn’t great but that’s understandable

Liked Not one thing did we like about this disgusting site

Disliked We only stayed one night my wife couldn’t use the disabled toilets due to so called residents having keys none of which were disabled in fact there was a couple having sex in disabled toilet we had to call a member of staff from the water sports team to allow my wife into the toilet in fact we called him twice and he had to try and find a key that we could use I think we should get a total refund for this appalling disgusting experience that we had to endure for the night we had to stay we couldn’t get away quickly enough on the Tuesday morning and I will be taking it further

Liked Was a bit apprehensive after reading negative reviews but non materialised.

Really enjoyed the stay just an overnight its a big site but didn't feel crowded. Toilets are clean and showers looked decent enough.

Worth a 10-15 minute stroll to nearby pubs which were excellent.

Can't really comment on other facilities as i didn't use.

Onsite staff seemed pretty friendly.

Disliked Really nothing.
