  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids on site
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

What customers say

This roomy spot's handy for Nottingham & water sports. Staff are a big hit, pitches tidy. Some found facilities old/unclean. Good value, family-friendly. Resolved issues: past event noise & encampment.

Liked Was a bit apprehensive after reading negative reviews but non materialised.

Really enjoyed the stay just an overnight its a big site but didn't feel crowded. Toilets are clean and showers looked decent enough.

Worth a 10-15 minute stroll to nearby pubs which were excellent.

Can't really comment on other facilities as i didn't use.

Onsite staff seemed pretty friendly.

Disliked Really nothing.

Liked Close to the watersports centre. Cute little park. Nice set up and site overall.

Disliked Loud trance music blaring nearby all night and well into the next morning (not from the site itself).

Toilet facilities could do with a spruce up. Lots of cob webs, flies, limescale toilets etc.

Also, double check what you're charged if you pay for any additions e.g awning, extra people etc.

I should have paid £4 for my awning but was charged £20. I did, however, have this refunded.

Liked Stayed many times and good campsite but too many issues lately. Impossible to sleep.

Disliked Exessive noise and parties all night. If u wish to sleep any than do not stay here. Security doesn't care and very loud music is on the whole night without any break.
Shame that the park doesn't care and stop this after all everyone should be comfortable and many families, athletes and children stay here so loud parties should stop at least about 1-2am but not here...

From the manager: Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review.

We’re pleased to hear you found the location convenient for the watersports and that you were happy with your grass pitch.

We’re sorry to hear you felt there was no welcome on arrival. We do operate a self-service check-in system to make arrival as quick and hassle-free as possible, so guests can head straight to their pitch without needing to visit reception. However, we appreciate this may feel less personal and your feedback is noted.

We’re also sorry to hear that the facilities did not meet your expectations. Your comments regarding the showers and toilets have been passed on to our team for review.

Did you manage to take advantage of the country park and the activities they offer during your stay? It’s a great part of what makes the area so special, and we always encourage guests to explore it.

Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Kind Regards
