  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids on site
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that your toddler particularly enjoyed being pitched near the play park. It's always great to know that our younger visitors have had a good time!
We also appreciate your comments regarding the noise from the surrounding area. As we're located close to a variety of sporting and recreational facilities, there can occasionally be some noise beyond our control. However, we do understand that peace and quiet are important to many of our guests, and we value your feedback.
Thank you again for your review, and we hope to welcome you and your family back again in the future.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Great area, plenty of facilities, friendly staff, literally over the road from the water sports centre for a nice walk or if you were staying for sports. Listing on pitchup states no Tentboxes but site confirmed we could stay under a tent booking

Disliked Some loud moments late at night and again around 4:30 in the morning. Some showers/taps not working.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback.
We’re really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the location, the facilities, and that you found our team friendly and helpful. It’s great to know the proximity to the water sports centre worked well for you and added to your stay.
We also appreciate your comments regarding the booking information for TentBox stays. Thank you for highlighting this, as it’s really useful for us to ensure our listings remain clear and up to date.
I’m sorry to hear that your stay was affected by noise at certain times during the night, as well as issues with some of the showers and taps. This is certainly not the standard we aim to provide, and your feedback will be passed on to the relevant teams so we can look into this further and make improvements where needed.
Thank you again for your comments, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more restful stay in the future.

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback.
We’re delighted to hear that this was your second stay with us and that Rafters continues to be a convenient and comfortable base for your visits to the National Water Sports Centre regatta. It’s great to know the self check-in process, spacious layout, site maintenance, and facilities all helped make your stay smooth and enjoyable.
We’re especially pleased that you were able to get a good night’s sleep and found the quiet hours helpful, as well as making use of the on-site washing machines and other facilities. It’s also great to hear that the cabin worked well for your needs, including the showers and wash-up areas, and that the well-kept grass helped make packing up easier.
