Mini land rovers
Adventure play park

  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding, open-top canoeing and the inflatable assault course Wipe Out. But! This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a mini four-wheel drive course for kids, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots is on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

Liked: Not a great deal to say really

Disliked: I realise it was a very dull and damp time of year to visit Holme Pierrepont so it's not the campsites fault for the weather but the seasonal pitches we was met with upon arrival was very disappointing it looked like a travellers site rubbish everywhere old children's toys strewn across the pitches it was very very scruffy to say the least I understand that these pitches bring in a all year round income but surely the owners must be made to keep to some kind of standard. Nevertheless we would probably visit again but stipulate that we are pitched away from that area it's really such a shame
Regards

Liked: Secure park. Wide access roads to pitches.

Disliked: Water points weren’t marked ( or I didn’t see them). Hard standing pitches were actually grass covered, so a bit muddy

Liked: So close to the water sports centre and nice walks, pub close by what do very good meals. Site was quite so not much about. Toilet block was in need of a good clean as there was grass cutting all around.

Disliked: Some of the toilets need new locks or handles.
