Flaxton Meadows

Positiv Pitch size was nice and easy to get to.
Nice dog walk from pitch around the perimeter of the site and a common that was close by.
Men’s Showers were great.

Negativ The night we planned for a pizza from the site we got a reply .. As there was not many people on site today , no pizzas tonight! A sign to say that during the day would have been nice.
Woman’s showers were not working for a few days , but after telling staff they told us that my wife could use staff shower room.
Dog wash did not have any hose attached, so we couldn’t wash our dog.
When trying to peg the awning down, it was very difficult as it felt you were trying to knock them directly into concrete after an inch of so and I bent so many rock pegs!

Positiv Nice welcome, very relaxed atmosphere. Great amenities. Very spacious pitches. Great location for York and surrounding attractions. Nice part of the country. Would recommend. Probably one of the nicest sites we have been to.

Negativ The elsan point. Really needs an update and a re-thought. Not a nice experience emptying the cassette.This is the only letdown.

Positiv Lovely site, large pitches, best/clean toilet and shower blocks to date, with under floor heating. Nice on site bar, friendly/helpful staff. A few 1st timers, as us and all saying they would come again.

Positiv 2nd visit here and it has changed slightly. The staff are still friendly and can’t do enough for you. A good designated walk for the dogs. Toilets and showers really clean and spotless. Large pitches. Well stocked bar

Negativ Smoking and vaping is not allowed in the beer garden, and there is no designated area for it, which is a shame, as we both like a vape when having a drink, and I know it’s only a petty thing, but for some people it might be a good thing

Positiv We had the most amazing time camping at Flaxton Meadows for my birthday with our greyhound, Bowie. The whole place was so peaceful and beautifully clean. We explored a few nearby pubs—super easy to walk to, even though we had a car. There were plenty of lovely local walks too, including a nice route around the campsite itself. We even had a couple of drinks and a pizza in the bar on site. Everyone was so friendly, and we just had the best time. We’ll definitely be back!

Positiv The facilities at Excelled are spotless, with exceptionally clean toilets and showers. The entire site is beautifully maintained, creating a really pleasant atmosphere. The staff are fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. I’ll definitely be coming back again.
