Syntes om A basic site that did the job. Staff were friendly, and the kids enjoyed seeing the goats and birds.

Syntes ikke om Toilet block - basic but fine. Quite cold, and the floor wasn’t very clean. It seemed like they weren’t checked very often. The doors to the toilets could be stiff and hard to open/close. Often there was no toilet roll in multiple stalls.

Pitch - we were on a 16amp grass pitch and felt very closely packed in once others arrived. Fine for a night, but I wouldn’t be comfortable for any longer than that and was glad to be leaving the next day. Comparative to other sites we’ve stayed at, the pitch felt cramped.

Washing up - very basic and not the cleanest.

Music - loud music playing until 10:30pm when quiet hours are from 9pm. The next night it was also happening until around 10pm. I understand that staff need to be made aware (which they were, and music stopped shortly after - maybe a coincidence as no one replied to the text), but it seems to be a regular issue looking at other reviews.

Syntes om Looks like it had nice summer facilities with covered bar area and small store. We visited in wet weather in October when the site was mostly empty and stayed in our motorhome so didn't use many facilities. Hardstanding and power/water for motorhomes was next to the pitch, which was ideal.

Liked the goats/aviary and the dog and I spent many happy minutes watching the fun. It was a short walk into the village where there were two pubs (although the nearer wasn't open on a Tuesday)

There looked to be children's play area too. I can imagine in summer this site being much more active, for us as a halfway stopover on the way to Cumbria it worked fine.

There is a goods trainline nearby which does hoot for a crossing further up the line. As we live near one of those already it didn't bother us.

Syntes om Clean and spacious, goats were a delight

Syntes ikke om Others starting playing very loud drum and base music at 10:30pm at night despite it having a quiet policy from 9pm, many around us were coming out of their units congregating and having a conversation complaining about this unacceptable noise, a phone call was made and subsequently the volume was reduced slightly but it was still unacceptable as the base was still very audible as it was night time. As there was a quiet policy from 9pm it should be observed by all as that is one of the main reasons why we and others camped near us booked this site. My husband did comment that the swing door to the ladies toilet did allow too much visablity, he wouldn’t be comfortable allowing his daughters to use it as any undesirable person could use this as an opportunity for voyeurism

Fra bestyreren: Just to clarify the music was turned off when staff were made aware of it. It did go on again and the camper was given his last warning. The problem was resolved asap on our side. Unfortunately it only takes 1 camper to upset people and we will always resolve this when aware of it.

As for the swing door to the ladies, it only shows hand wash sinks. All toilets have separate locked doors. If we had made these sinks communal there would have been no issue, so not sure why they are for your husband. Hand wash voyeurs would be pretty niche, and readily available at other sets of toilets everywhere 😂

Syntes om Novel themed campsite with good facilities and a friendly arrival. Everything on the pitch worked well, with power and water supply directly on the pitch.

Syntes ikke om The only issue I had was finding the site, my VW Group sat nav in the car had me in the next village, good old Google maps knew where to go tho.

Syntes om A fabulous little campsite with loads for families and very dog friendly. The staff were very friendly and Freddy went above and beyond when we ran out of firewood. The showers and toilets are dated but water was very hot and there are multiple cubicles so you cannot complain. Nice seating area with 2 large log burners, dog blankets on floor which was a nice touch for our pooches. Playgound, bouncy castle, avery and goats for the children and a shop with tea, coffee and the essentials. There was noisy D&B music playing on the Saturday eve but this quickly stopped after a phone call to the reception. It started again at midnight and was put to a final stop immediately. This was down to the individuals and not the fault of the campsite and staff - it was dealt with very professionally in our opinion. Pizzas were also fabulous and walking distance from some lovely cafes and pubs. We will be returning!

Syntes ikke om Food took 1 hour (2 pizzas) so perhaps more evening staff in the kitchen - although we do note from speaking to them in the morning that they were unusually busy for this time of year and volume was unexpected.

Syntes om Good location. We were pitched on no6&7 well stocked shop. Food looked good. Toilets were clean. Loved the Goats and the birds in the Avery’s. Good that there was water at each pitch and good pressure too

Syntes ikke om The pitches were ok only downfall was that you could feel where the caravans and motor homes have been parked as there were wheel track divots everywhere. So found myself tripping up in the tent where the ground wasn’t flat. Also the trains sounding their horns constantly at all hours, but not the parks fault

Syntes om What a great little gem of a camping site, the staff were friendly, the amenities were well looked after and clean, the shop/pub on the ground had very reasonable prices.
It is a decent size and seemed quite secure, I had no problem with using the electricity to my tent, and the water pressure to the site was imensly powerful.
There is an 11am check out time, I asked them if this was set in stone just in case there was some rain amd i got delayed packing away, they said because it was not busy, it wouldn't be a problem if we did stay past the check out time.
There is an outside table area under cover close to the bar/restaurant it has a log burner in there which is a lovely little touch.
My son enjoyed playing in the park, there was also a bouncy castle there, but was unfortunately deflated due to the rain.

Syntes ikke om To be honest, I couldn't really fault the place, it is close to a train track and you can hear them going past, but it has not put me off the place, and my Autistic boy loved feeding the Pygmy goats, the food was only £1 from the inside shop.

Syntes om The site was just what we were looking for-spacious and ideal for children, outdoor pub and cafe/ restaurant…good clean toilets/ shower room and washing up station…
wish we had a few more days to explore and enjoy it more.
