Imagine you're in California, travelling a long leisurely road, and wearily decide it's high time to pull in for the night… First up, hold that thought, because even if you're tired you're still touring California, and second up, pull in at Lost Hills RV Park, a mere block west of Highway 5 at the 46 interchange. Welcoming travellers of the tired disposition as well as families, groups and folk on short (or longer) breaks, Lost Hills is a big-rig friendly park in Kern County 42 miles from Bakersfield. It's near several museums, about five miles south of the Kern National Wildlife Refuge and close to the spectacular Red Rock Canyon State Park. Numerous facilities are on hand to ensure comfortable stays, including a seasonal outdoor pool, a playground, a horseshoe pit, a dog exercise area and free wifi throughout. The park also has a launderette, toilets and showers, an electric car charging station and propane sales. Restaurants, an RV wash and petrol stations are all conveniently close by.
