Sunsational Family Campground

Once (if) you’ve finished with the fishing, the tubing, the kayaking and the woodland walks (and waterside wanders), make the three and a half-mile journey by foot or car to the Union County Sportsmen's Club and Wildlife Sanctuary, where there’s a restaurant, nature trails, miniature golf and a trout pond, as well as regular events. A day with a difference for kids is to the Mifflinburg Buggy Museum (30 minutes’ drive), in the only preserved 19th-century carriage shop in the region and home to a visitor centre, reconstructed carriage house, buggy factory, showroom and the original shop used by buggy maker William A Heiss. Sunsational is just outside the Bald Eagle State Forest, where there are five state parks, several preserved natural areas and access to the 327 miles of the Pennsylvania Mid State Trail along the Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians and Allegheny Plateau.
