A summer day on site
Aerial view

  • Peaceful and scenic site at 1200 metres in the Jura mountains
  • Next to the Le Chasseron hiking path; ski trails and kit hire close by
  • Kitchen facilities on site; well-known local restaurant next door
Up at an altitude of 1200 metres in Switzerland’s Jura-Nord Vaudois region, the views are fabulous, the air is clear and fresh and the general atmosphere is as peaceful as could be. And that's exactly the spot that Camping Les Cluds occupies, in a wooded pasture about five minutes' drive from the village of Bullet. It's a lovely place to base yourselves for a holiday full of outdoor activities – including hiking, cycling, swimming, horse riding and a variety of winter sports – or simply settling down to soak up the scenery and serenity. When you're out and about during the day you’re likely to pass by several Alpine chalets that are open in summer for meals, drinks and snacks – often accompanied by more of those fine views. You won’t need to go far for your evening meal, however, as the site is next door to the excellent Restaurant des Cluds, which has been serving up top-notch regional specialities since 1938. You're welcome to stop here for a drink on the terrace, choose good-value set menus or try full meals like fondue and filet mignon. Sprucing yourself up for a nice dinner after a long day of hiking should be simple enough, as the site has a launderette and drying room as well as toilets and showers. If you’d rather do your own meals, you'll be able to use the kitchen facilities on site and serve up your meals in the indoor common room. It’s also got a coffee machine for your early-morning caffeine fix and a billiards table for a little bit of competition of an evening.

What customers say

This campsite offers a peaceful, beautiful mountain location with excellent staff and a well-regarded on-site restaurant. Visitors praised the clean facilities, good WiFi, and convenient kitchen amenities. It's ideal for hiking and cycling, with nearby attractions like Lake Neuchatel and a mountain toboggan run. Some found shower tokens restrictive and pitches rocky, with occasional early morning vehicle noise and late-night gunfire impacting sleep for some.

Liked Beautiful campsite location, great amenities with clean layout. Tranquil and peaceful place to stay. We only stayed one night but felt this would be an ideal spot for longer stays to enjoy Switzerland!

Electric optional grass tent or touring caravan pitch

Liked Propere plaats, propere douche en toiletten.
Vriendelijk personeel.
Mooie natuur, prachtig uitzicht, frisse lucht.

Electric optional grass tent or touring caravan pitch

Liked Friendly, clean and quiet.
Lovely hiking trail.
Electric was available.
Plenty of hot water even though needed a token to access hot water from both showers and wash sinks.

Disliked Couldn’t park the car next to the tent but there were trolleys available to help carry camping stuff to pitch.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Electric optional hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked The site was perfectly situated and peaceful. Extremely helpful and friendly staff.
A great place to stay for cycling, and hiking. Really well positioned, with some amazing walks from the site.
The little one loved the playgrounds on site, and at the adjacent restaurant (which was great for a lunch break and a drink).

We also drove round the mountain to the toboggan/ski lift and pump track, which we all loved.

As with any mountain area, I'd recommend stocking up if you intend to cook for yourself as the nearest supermarket in Saint-Croix is very expensive and limited. That said, the site and restaurant offer some basic essentials if you're short.

All the facilities were clean and well maintained. We used the washing machine and dryer as well, which I was able to pay for on card.

And good coverage of free WiFi all over the site.

Disliked The 4.5 minute shower tokens seem a little tight! Would be nice to have some tokens thrown in with a long stay booked?

Electric optional grass tent pitch (no cars)

Liked The pitches were a good size and well kept. Quiet and lovely location. On arrival the welcome was great. Restaurant and cafe bar next door were a great addition.

Disliked The car was not allowed on the pitch but parked quite close by and in a safe place. Trolleys were available to transport camping equipment and luggage which worked well. Price for electric and dog charged each night and for hot water either for a shower or to use a sink to have a wash was a bit steep.
