What customers say

This campsite is highly praised for its stunning mountain location, offering breathtaking views and opportunities for hiking and cycling. Visitors frequently highlight the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the exceptional cleanliness of the facilities, particularly the showers. Amenities like a convenient on-site shop are also appreciated. However, some guests experienced pitches resembling car parks, with limited flat areas and close proximity between motorhomes, particularly when the site is busy. Limited showers and WiFi availability at pitches were also noted drawbacks for some.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Firstly what an amazing location! High up on top of a mountain, with absolutely stunning views of the alps. The staff were just as amazing, warm and friendly, and helped you with everything. They also have a communal hut to use which has microwave, oven, and a fridge. The toilets were extremely clean and the showers are power showers and lovely and warm. There is also a tavern 100m away and a real sense of international campers. I would thoroughly recommend this campsite.

There are also small children so even though mine is now grown up I think the kids would be well looked after and very safe here if they were still young.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Incredible location with the most fantastic views. Plenty of beautiful walks and cycle rides in the hills around.
Very friendly service.
Very clean facilities.

Disliked The pitches were small, cramped together a bit. We had a campervan and it felt a bit like a car park but all had good views.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Beautiful surrounding and picturesque landscape.

Disliked We were staying with a caravan and the road up the mountain was tight in places making the journey to and from the site a bit scary at times. We had to pay xtra to park our car for a week in a separate car park although we were booked with a caravan which I find really annoying as you have already paid to stay. WiFi only works at reception area. Had to pay xtra to empty your rubbish. I would not class this as a campsite in the traditional sense it was more like a car park with campsite facilities. Would I stay again definitely not.

Electric optional grass tent pitch

Liked A really beautiful campsite on top of a mountain, with really friendly helpful staff, and amazing facilities that are kept spotlessly clean. There are so many beautiful places to go and visit all within an hours drive or less of this site. There is a shop and restaurant on site too. Highly recommend for nature lovers

Local attractions

Active types will no doubt be itching to discover the Bernese Alps on foot or by bike; expert hikers can yomp up the Bäderhorn (20 minutes’ drive) for stunning views to Mont Blanc from the summit. There’s a popular and way-marked loop through the Gastlosen massif from Musersbergli car park (15 minutes) that’s good for competent teenage walkers, and if you’re with younger kids, a gentle hike through alpine meadows around the campsite may suffice. Cyclists can take the switchback road through a steep mountain pass up to Jaun (around two hours by bike), a gorgeous village of traditional chalets with steep pitched roofs tucked into the mountain foothills. If you need a picnic spot, plonk yourselves down on the banks of the dramatic waterfall just outside the village. When you’re staying at Camping Jaunpass in late November, there may already be a scattering of snow. While the ski resorts don’t officially open until the end of December, you can get out on the slopes with the kids to have rollicking snowball fights or try out snowshoeing.
