Heading for Valencia and looking for lots of things to keep the kids happy? Heads up you should be checking out Camping Playamonte, next to the sandy beach at Lago de Playamonte swimming lake and close to hiking to some of the region’s best-known natural attractions like the dramatic Chorradores waterfalls (15 minutes’ drive). As far as activities on site go, there’s a playground for younger guests, and a padel court where you can hone your ball skills. Beat the kids at table football in the licensed bar – where there’s also a pool table and darts board – or relax with a glass of something chilled after a fun-filled day of adventuring. If you fancy an alfresco feast, there are several barbecues available for general use, where you can cook up a tasty paella Valenciana. This quiet site is on the outskirts of the historic town of Navarrés, where there are food shops and supermarkets, as well as restaurants galore if you feel like a change of scene. Spacious pitches are tucked into olive groves or shaded by hardwood trees, and modern facilities include spotless separate showers for men and women, a laundry area and washing-up sinks.

Local attractions

If the kids need to do some running around, let them scramble over the inflatable climbing course at neighbouring Lago de Playamonte, where there is also a sandy beach for picnics in the sun and clear water for refreshing dips. For more water-based fun, head for the Embarcadero Embalse Escalona (15 minutes’ drive) for a stroll across the dam or kayaking and paddleboarding around the shoreline. More hardline adventures are found canyoning and rafting down the spectacular Gorgo de la Escalera (also 15 minutes), where you can dive off slabs of rock along the gorge. Fans of wild swimming can make a beeline for the impressive falls at Chorradores (10 minutes) to cool off in the pools at the foot of the cascades, or take the plunge into the natural pools at Los Charcos de Quesa (25 minutes). There’s plenty to keep hikers happy, from the riverside Ruta Rio Fraile (40 minutes), to the many walking trails leading up to the Mirador dels Tres Mollons (half an hour) for views over arid peaks and deep valleys dotted with olive trees.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
Please pick any available pitch on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
