General

  • Family-friendly site on the Costa del Azahar
  • A 15-minute walk from Gandia beach for watersports and boat trips
  • Bar, restaurant and swimming pool

You won’t want to forget your swimming cossie, sunglasses and oversized hat when you’re packing for your hols at Camping La Naranja, a family-friendly site a minute’s drive from the town of Gandia on the Costa del Azahar in Valencia.

La Naranja is a top spot for beach adventures – it’s a 15-minute walk from the sands of Playa de Gandia, where you can lay out in the sun, jump in the water, stroll along the seafront or explore on horseback. Too sedate? Try jetskiing, kayaking, windsurfing and flyboarding, or head out for a boat party.

If you don’t fancy finding sand in surprising places for your entire getaway, you could explore the town instead: start with a visit to the Ducal Palace, then follow the route of the Borgias.

Back on site, unwind away from the crowds with a dip in the on-site swimming pool, then bag a bite at the café-restaurant when you’re peckish. If you prefer fending for yourself, barbecues are welcome at La Naranja, so pile yours high with goodies from one of the supermarkets within 10 minutes’ walk, then head to the on-site bar to wash it all down.

Fancy being fancy and treating yourself? There are also plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance…

Please note

The restaurant is open between 01/06 and 15/09.

The outdoor swimming pool is open between 01/07 and 01/09 (subject to weather conditions).

A cable measuring at least 20 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

I enjoyed my stay at La Naranja very much, would gladly stay there again and recommend without hesitation.

Due to my stay being in Winter and with strict Covid restrictions in place, many of the Camp’s facilities were not available.
For this reason I cannot comment further other than to say that in my opinion, they looked to be well maintained and would be fully functional in different circumstances.

The shower and toilet facilities were cleaned regularly, with everything working well and in good order. I particularly liked the simple “push to operate” showers with preset water temperature.

WiFi was of limited range of reception at the time, but free of charge and worked very well, for these reasons I have given it a high rating: it did all I asked of it.

La Naranja is a family run Campsite on a working Orange plantation and staffed with the most pleasant and helpful people anyone could wish to meet.
It is within easy walking distance of the beach, first by way of a minor road and then through an extended part of the town - like all Spanish towns, there is an abundance of safe road crossings.
The beach has miles of golden sand equipped with toilets and open showers for public use and of course, the blue Mediterranean Sea.

In short, an excellent well-run and friendly Campsite.

Local attractions

The Borgias may have brought Gandia to worldwide attention, but there’s more to the seaside town than one famed family: within 10 minutes’ drive of Camping La Naranja, you can mosey around the archaeological museum or the Museu Faller de Gandia (home to displays and exhibitions about the Valencian festival of Fallas).

For a few moments of peace, make your way to Monasterio de Sant Jeroni de Cotalba to wander along the colonnaded walkways and spy out the stunning architecture with Moorish, Gothic, baroque and neoclassical influences. There’s lots to see here, including an orange tree patio, olive oil mill and wine press, as well as spectacular gardens.

Kids who aren’t too enthused about museums and monasteries might be better entertained with a trip to Gandilandia, an amusement park less than five minutes from La Naranja, or by trekking to Benidorm, around an hour away, where they can splash around in Aqualandia waterpark, get a thrill at Terra Mitica theme park or meet the animals at the MundoMar animal park.

An hour in the other direction is the city of Valencia, where there’s a good mix of activities for the whole family: you can all explore the historic indoor market, get your knowledge on at the science and culture park, or make your way to the Oceanografico aquarium.
