With a name like Dunas y Mar, you can probably summon up something of a picture of this Valencian Community touring site. And if that picture is mostly made up of seaside… well then you’d be pretty accurate, as it’s just across the road from a protected natural area of dunes that leads down to a lovely sandy stretch of beach. Getting to the beach is merely a case of wandering along a wooden walkway through the vegetation of the dunes, so it’s a mighty peaceful outing with no road traffic in site. Unsurprisingly, the beach has something of a wild and unspoiled vibe, with clean water and plenty of quiet space. It’s a gorgeous spot, but if you fancy trying a beach with more facilities, you can get to Torrevieja or Santa Pola with a drive of about 15 minutes. Although this location might at first appear splendidly remote, in fact it’s very well served with various amenities – being just on the edge of San Fulgencio means that there are a couple of supermarkets and restaurants within a few minutes’ walk, as well as fun things like a miniature golf course. More shops and places to eat are a few minutes’ drive away in the town centre, which also hosts a market on Saturdays. And if you don’t feel like going that far… well, it’s handy that there’s a café and bar on site, along with communal barbecues where you can cook up any bits you’ve purchased while out and about. Other facilities on site include a play area and pétanque court for a bit of entertainment, plus a launderette, bike hire facility, wifi service and well-kept bathrooms. Dogs are welcome, and there’s an exercise area where they can run about.

Liked Great well laid out site, toilets and showers clean and tidy. Made to feel welcome and access to bus to Santa Pola & Torrevieja just outside camp (when they turn up). 16€ per night for a large pitch was great value for money.

Disliked Slightly out of town, so not much to walk to, beach is a trek if you don’t have bikes

Liked Such a lovely campsite . Spotlessly clean . Gorgeous showers .Plenty of room to dry and dress . Even a stool . Bike ride to the beach . Dog friendly beach too . Also you could go nude if you were that way inclined !! Such friendly staff . Would recommend 100% .

Disliked Not great views ! However with three supermarkets within a three minute walk and a fabulous Chinese megastore I’m not taking away any stars . Beach has a lot of debris , mostly wood but it’s manageable. Some traffic noise .

En relación con el wifi, ofrecemos una red abierta cuyo funcionamiento puede verse afectado ocasionalmente por la saturación o incidencias ajenas a nuestro control. Para una mejor conexión, disponemos además de routers adicionales que garantizan una excelente señal, por lo que estaremos encantados de facilitarlos en su próxima visita.

Respecto al servicio de food truck, sí contamos con él, aunque durante la temporada baja no está operativo. No obstante, una de las ventajas de nuestra ubicación es la cercanía a una zona comercial con bares, restaurantes y supermercados, a menos de cinco minutos a pie del camper park.

Esperamos tener el placer de recibirles de nuevo muy pronto.

The beach by the site is likely to occupy you for a while, but there’s more to this stretch of coastline, of course… including scuba diving, windsurfing, sea kayaking, paragliding and canyoning from Santa Pola (15 minutes’ drive). Alternatively, head south to Torrevieja (15 minutes) for surf lessons, family-friendly days at Aquapark Flamingo and a sight that may well make you rub your eyes in disbelief – the pink waters and pink flamingoes of Las Salinas de Torrevieja, a salt lake just outside the town. If you want to cast your net a bit wider, plan trips to the archaeology museum and palm grove in Elche (half an hour), or spend time exploring the historic attractions and eateries of your nearby cities – both Alicante (40 minutes) and Murcia (50 minutes) make good day-trip destinations.
