This is a particularly sweet spot to park your motorhome in for a few days – Sunset Camper Area is an easy few minutes’ walk from the sands of San Juan Playa, and has all sorts of handy amenities within walking distance (including shops, restaurants, takeaways, cafés and beachfront bars). That in itself is an appealing enough situation, but there’s more – because this family-friendly site is also handily placed for outings to Alicante (with a plethora of public transport options for easy jaunts) and for trips to other coastal towns or inland hiking trails. Entirely geared to the needs of guests in motorhomes and campervans, this spacious site has a good collection of useful facilities including a launderette, a wifi service, a chemical disposal point and a washing-up area as well as well-equipped bathrooms (with baby-changing facilities and fully accessible bathrooms for guests in wheelchairs). Good news for those travelling with a four-legged pal: dogs are welcome at this site, and there are beaches nearby that will allow them to have a good run around and a splash in the sea (some allow dogs all year; others have seasonal restrictions, so it’s worth checking the local information).

From the manager: Hartelijk dank voor uw mooie en uitgebreide reactie! We vinden het echt fijn om te lezen dat u zo genoten heeft van uw verblijf bij ons – vooral van de ligging vlak bij de boulevard en de zee, de fietsroutes richting Alicante, ons schone sanitair en het vriendelijke team.

Des te verrassender vonden wij de score van 3/10, omdat die niet helemaal lijkt aan te sluiten bij uw positieve woorden. Misschien is er per ongeluk een kleine vergissing gebeurd?

Mocht dat zo zijn en wilt u uw beoordeling nog eens bekijken, dan zouden wij dat natuurlijk erg waarderen. Maar hoe dan ook: hartelijk dank voor uw feedback.

Liked der Stellplatz ist neu, daher gibt es noch keine Bäume, sieht mit seinem Schotterplatz ziemlich kahl aus. Die Sanitäranlagen sowie der Platz zum auffüllen oder ablassen von Wasser sehr gut. Die Mitarbeiterin ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit, der Chef ebenso. Der Platz liegt in ca. 400 m vom Meer entfernt, gute Supermarktnähe. Der Strom ist relativ teuer. Alles in Allem, für ein paar Tage empfehlenswert.

Liked Stellplatzgrößen ausreichend, Sanitärcontainer in Ordnung, Nähe zu Alicante und Elche.
Für zwei bis drei Übernachtung vollommen ok.

Disliked Müllentsorgung noch nicht ausgereift.
Jedenfalls haben wir nicht so richtig was gefunden.
Durch die Kürze unseres Aufendhaltes auch nicht weiter nachgefragt.

Local attractions

The nearest beach, San Juan Playa, is a lovely long sandy stretch with clear waters and plenty of places to grab a drink or a snack. Various watersports are available along the beach, including a surf school just a few minutes’ walk from the site. For those who’d like to see some of the plentiful marine life up close, a couple of diving centres in El Campello (10 minutes’ drive) have scuba and snorkelling trips on offer. The seafront is flanked with palm trees, but for a real palm-fringed experience you’ll need to travel to Elche (half an hour) to visit its UNESCO-listed Palmeral, a palm grove with over 40,000 date palms. Other pretty sights to seek out include the colourful houses of Villajoyosa (20 minutes) and the Moorish Mola Castle (35 minutes). And of course you’ll have to take a trip to Alicante (20 minutes, or take a bus or tram) for sights such as Castillo de Santa Barbara, museums including the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, and foodie treats at the Mercado Central. There are also historic neighbourhoods to stroll through and beaches to relax on.

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Changes to your holiday

Changes cannot be made once you have booked.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
