  • Small and friendly site 15 minutes' walk from Ginestar village centre
  • Salou's beach and Tarragona's historic sights within an hour's drive
  • By the Ebro river for fishing and kayaking; sociable bar on site
There’s always a warm welcome for guests at The Blue House On The Ebro, where owners Martin and Eloise have set up a small site in the grounds of their gorgeous riverside (and, yes, bright blue) house and say they are ‘committed to giving you the best holiday we possibly can’. You’ll be off to a good start if you like fishing or kayaking, because you’ll be able to fish right there in the river by the site, or launch your kayaks for a day of paddling through the splendid Catalonia surroundings. Hikers and cyclists are well served with trails around this area too, but you’ll be equally welcome if your main plan is simply to relax among the fruit trees on site and soak up the mountain and river views. Those views give the site a nice peaceful rural atmosphere, but you won’t be in the middle of nowhere here – this lovely location is actually a 15-minute walk from the village of Ginestar, which is home to a bakery, a restaurant, a couple of café-bars and a couple of shops. There’s also an outdoor pool that’s open through the summer months for refreshing dips. Back on site there’s a sociable vibe that centres around the bar and communal area where guests can socialise and relax; dogs are welcome too. Other facilities on site include toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a launderette.

What customers say

Guests describe The Blue House On The Ebro as a beautiful, natural campsite directly on the Ebro river, with a relaxed atmosphere and top-notch cleanliness. All facilities are reported as clean and accessible, with the owner being friendly and accommodating, even for late arrivals. One guest experienced excessive heat in their cabin, leading to an early departure, and a separate incident involved guests refusing to pay a balance after using the river facilities.

From the manager: This party of two men turned up at our camp site, played in the river for about 3 hours and refused to pay the outstanding balance of €42.50 so they left. The Blue House On The Ebro 💙

Electric optional grass and gravel pitch

Liked Alle voorzieningen waren schoon en altijd toegankelijk.
De eigenaar is heel aardig en altijd makkelijk te bereiken.
Ondanks dat we erg laat op locatie aan kwamen had de eigenaar hier totaal geen moeite mee.

Local attractions

This is a great area for outdoor enthusiasts, with a range of activities nearby including hiking, cycling and kayaking close by. An activity centre in Ginestar also organises adventures like canyoning and via ferrata climbing. If that all sounds a little bit too taxing, perhaps you’d prefer to take a stroll around the village, looking out its microbrewery and Barranc de Gàfols archaeological site, visit Castell de Miravet (25 minutes’ drive) or seek out local craft shops and wineries – the site’s friendly owners can point you in the right direction. There’s also the option of a dip in the warm springs at La Fontcalda (40 minutes) or a cooler underground tour of the Cova Meravelles caves (20 minutes). For a day trip, you might look to places like Salou (45 minutes) for the beach and PortAventura World, or Tarragona’s UNESCO-listed Roman ruins (55 minutes). At two hours away, Barcelona is also within striking distance.
