Local attractions

Mountain biking, bungee jumping (if you dare), horse riding, paragliding, canyoning, rafting and canoeing are all available in the area along with the walking trails, bike rides, waterfalls and spectacular scenery of the Ordesa National Park. The valleys and towns of Bujaruelo, Otal and Pineta are all nearby.

For towns and culture, try the monastery of San Juan de la Peña with its church partly carved into the cliff, the jolly pretty town of Jaca and its medieval walls, and the Romanesque churches of the villages of the Serrablo.

The French border is a short drive away: head over for the day for a look at the Cirque de Gavarnie (another splendidly scenic site), a ride on the highest train in Europe at the Petit train d'Artoust, and an explore of the Betharram caves/Grottes de Bétharram by foot, train or – top pick – boat.
