A site with a view (or two)... the pics of Camping Viu are so pretty you could hang them on your office wall.

It's a site set in a meadow and surrounded by forest, in the Pyrenees part of Aragon's Huesca province and a few minutes' drive from the smashingly scenic Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. This is a place for nature spotters and mountain fans, for hikers and cyclists, and for those who just like to sit and stare at splendid scenery... do have a look at the site pics...

Basic facilities, beautiful part of the country. 24/08/2018

This is a quiet site in a beautiful part of Spain and makes a good base for exploring the Ordessa National Park. The pitches are level and shady.
We had a tasty meal in the restaurant which was good value for money, and the two younger ladies serving at the restaurant were very helpful. We had lovely bread from the restaurant/bar in the mornings.
There is free WiFi if you sit near the bar/reception area, and the view from the WiFi spot is beautiful!
The toilets and showers were kept clean and there were plenty available, with no queuing even in August. The showers were hot and had a good flow.

    Disliked:

There is no hand soap in the toilets (we found this at a few Spanish sites) and no hand dryers, and instead of toilet roll in each cubicle you have to take what you think you will need from a roll just inside the entrance to the toilet block.
There are no benches in the showers and not all cubicles had hooks for hanging clothes/towels etc. The sinks in the shower blocks did not have hooks or shelves for wash bags/towels.
The site is on a main(ish) road into Torla. Other than the bar and a pool table there is little on site for children to do, and we didn't find anywhere to walk to, so we were in the car most days.
Due to the position of the site on a hillside, we actually found it a bit too shady -we were a bit chilly and struggled to get our washing dry, but I don't know how typical the weather we had was for August in the area.

Peaceful site, good for access to the Ordesa / Mount Perdido NP 23/08/2018

Very convenient for access to the wonderful Ordesa & Mt Perdido National Park, a kind of mini Grand Canyon. It's a peaceful low-key site, with generous, shady and level pitches, a well-stocked shop and good morning coffee. Extremely clean toilet & shower facilities. Wifi very weak at the site office. Overall good value.

    Disliked:

The camp site restaurant was expensive for what it provided. Tapas were tinned and reheated.

Nice clean site with clean toilet/shower facilities centrally located. The pitches are of adequate size in amongst trees offering some shade from the sun, but we found them to be slightly sloping, (perhaps to be expected half way up a mountain). Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a bar and a small shop for essentials but we was only staying the one night so didn't use them.

    Disliked:

Found young children running around between the tents quite late in the evening but it wasn't that bad to moan about (more a problem for the parents to deal with than the site).......

Local attractions

Mountain biking, bungee jumping (if you dare), horse riding, paragliding, canyoning, rafting and canoeing are all available in the area along with the walking trails, bike rides, waterfalls and spectacular scenery of the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. The valleys and towns of Bujaruelo and Otal are 30 and 40 minutes' drive away.

Around the site's Sobrarbe region, have a day out at district capital Boltaña to see its mountaintop 11th-century castle and the Aragonese Gothic and 16th-century Collegiate Church of San Pedro, one of the biggest churches in this part of the Pyrenees. Venturing further, another 11th-century castle is at Ainsa (an hour and 15 minutes), along with a 12th-century church, a handsome main square and the House of Culture, home to the biggest library in the Aragonese Pyrenees.

For towns and culture, try the Romanesque churches of the villages of the Serrablo (40 minutes), the jolly pretty town of Jaca and its medieval walls (50 minutes) and the monastery of San Juan de la Peña with its church partly carved into the cliff, an hour and 15 minutes away.
