  • Glamping on the banks of the Guadalquivir river in a natural park
  • Half an hour's drive from Cazorla; hiking trails all around
  • Swimming pool, river bathing area, restaurant and activities on site
Unspoiled natural landscapes all around – but a good dose of comfort on site, along with some excellent facilities? That’s the fabulous mix you’ll get when staying at Kampaoh Cazorla. This Andalusia glamping site is on the banks of the Guadalquivir river and surrounded by the scenery of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas Natural Park. It’s part of a campsite that spreads over around 100,000 square metres and has been designed to complement its natural surroundings. It’s located at about 1000 metres above sea level, so the air is fresh and fairly cool throughout the year. This site is an excellent base for a whole lot of hikes – there are lots of trails close by, taking you through forests to waterfalls, natural pools and viewpoints. The town of Cazorla is a little over half an hour’s drive away and a good place to try out some of the local food that this area is known for – either eating in the restaurants or picking up bits in the shops. Back up at the site there are lots of guest facilities to make your stay a comfortable and convenient one – these include a swimming pool, a river bathing area, a playground, a restaurant and a café-bar, as well as everyday essentials including a launderette and drinking water sources. In summer activities and entertainments are laid on for kids and adults, and the site staff can help you organise excursions for things like climbing, horse riding and canyoning. Time to chill out? Your tent is designed to help you do just that, with beds already made up for your arrival and space to relax both inside and out.

Local attractions

One of the things that makes this spot so attractive for outdoor enthusiasts is the fact that you can get out on trails without needing to drive – the Pico Poyos de la Mesa hiking area, for example, is about 20 minutes’ walk away. That said, having a car does open up options for getting further out into the countryside, perhaps to the Fuente del Oso hiking area (10 minutes’ drive) or Puerto del Tejo nature reserve (15 minutes). Other hotspots nearby include Mirador de las Palomas (15 minutes) and Arroyo Frío waterfall (20 minutes), or you could set off in search of the source of the Guadalquivir river (half an hour). When you’re not out and about on the area’s trails, you might like to learn about one of the top local products with an olive oil tour at Oleotour Cazorla (40 minutes) or stroll around Castillo de la Yedra (45 minutes), home to an intriguing museum of historic artefacts.
