Now that's a pool… This source of scenic splashing is at Camping Castril in Granada, a family-friendly campsite on the side of a small mountain five minutes from the town centre of Castril: deep cool dips could/should be had here all the days long. (It's highly scenic all around here too: this is land full of hiking and climbing, waterfalls and the Castril river running near the site, all set a short distance from the landscapes and wildlife of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park.) If you ever get out of the pool, Camping Castril has gardens to lounge about and relax in, set among spacious pitches shaded by trees. The on-site restaurant serves tasty and traditional homemade food and pizzas using locally-grown and organic products. Camping Castril also has a playground, a pétanque area, a TV room and wifi. A toilet block with showers is available on site.

Local attractions

The campsite's local village is Castril, one of the six villages of Granada's Huescar region and designated as a place of historical interest since 2001 for features like its traditional old houses, steep cobbled streets, river bridge and sixteenth century church. A few restaurants and cafés are in town for trad eats at decent prices. Many an outdoor activity is popular around here, such as hiking, climbing, kayaking and abseiling: ask the Camping Castril team for help in sorting out your active days (discounted rates for some activities are available for site guests). The area is also known for its many waterfalls and its spectacular caves, especially the Cave of the Dead, a Camping Castril team must-do (stalactites and stalagmites ahoy), and Don Fernando's Cave, the Granada province's deepest.
