General
- Right by the sea in Conil de Frontera
- Within easy reach of Cadiz, Seville, Jerez and Gibraltar
- Horse riding, wine tasting and Aqualand theme park all nearby
Cadiz, Seville, Jerez, Gibraltar – and the blue blue Spanish sea: all are within easy reach of Camping La Rosaleda around Conil de la Frontera. Along with the Aqualand theme park, teeny traditional villages and the Med climate of this Cádiz setting… escapes could be made to here quite a few times throughout the year…?
La Rosaleda is a nicely set out site right next to the sea, and has a big outdoor pool, a playground, a padel tennis court and a gym. The entertainment team runs regular activities like water polo, aquagym, archery, arts and crafts, and evening shows and films.
If all this seems just a tad too active, you could always slope off to the site sauna for a solitary soak, or hire a bike from the team for a placid pedal to the beach close by: Spanish sauna soak followed by a Spanish beach bask = pretty perfect.
The restaurant and supermarket on site will keep you sorted for food; for amenities, La Rosaleda has toilet blocks with free hot water, a washing-up area and chemical disposal.
The campsite has full disabled facilities.

Local attractions
Of all the many small Spanish towns and villages in the Cádiz area around Camping La Rosaleda, the closest (and quite famed) is Conil de la Frontera, the seaside town with six long sandy beaches and a weekly beachside market: you could spend pretty much all your hol here just basking with a book on the sands (wistful sigh).
Other townie days out in the area are easy to arrive at: try Chiclana de la Frontera, Jerez de la Frontera, Vejer de la Frontera, Medina Sidonia, Barbate, Zahara de los Atunes and San Fernando; for a splendid city day or two, make it a mission to get to the province capital Cádiz, one of the oldest cities in Europe.
If you're looking for something outside the urban, go and see the horse riding at the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre (a bit of a must), taste the region's wine at Bodega Gonzáliz Byass, Bodegas Caballero Castillo San Marcos, Bodegas Osborne, Bodegas Williams and Humbert (ditto), or wander the botanic garden at the Zoo Botánico in Jerez.
And if you're looking for something outside mature and grownup pursuits, both Aqualand theme park and the Aventura Marina aquarium are within easy reach.
