  • Landscaped tourer pitches in the Parque Natural del Cabo de Gata-Níjar
  • Isleta del Moro 15 minutes' drive; Genoveses beach 20 minutes
  • Cafeteria, laundry service and breakfast pastry service
Looking for a chilled rest up in the rugged coastal Parque Natural del Cabo de Gata-Níjar? Cabo de Gata Camper Park has pretty much everything you need for your overnight stop, from free modern showers and a laundry service to a cafeteria (serving breakfast from 9am-noon) and a breakfast pastry service for quick eats (order the day before from reception). The neatly tended site is designed for caravans, motorhomes and campervans. It's all level and completely accessible for everyone, with landscaped touring pitches tucked between hedges, palm trees and regional flora. Electric hook-ups and grey waste disposal are on hand, and you can sleep soundly knowing that security guards are on duty overnight. Dogs are allowed on site (but alway pick up after them and keep them on a leash, please), and they’ll be all too happy to accompany you on walks in the Parque Natural del Cabo de Gata-Níjar. You'll be very well placed for all the park's attractions when staying here – ask at reception for inspiration if you’re not sure which hiking trails or beaches to hit first.

What customers say

This is a friendly, quirky campsite with very welcoming owners. Pitches are gravel and surrounded by tomato tunnels. Facilities are basic and dated but generally clean, with hot water in showers. Bread is delivered daily. The site is considered good value for money and a useful stopover, though some find the surrounding landscape less attractive and note occasional issues with road noise or drain smells. Manager replies indicate that facility improvements are a priority.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch

Liked Las parcelas eran bastante grandes.

Local attractions

If you’re staying around to sample the pleasures of the Parque Natural del Cabo de Gata-Níjar, remote beaches might be your first stop. Take a picnic to the fine sandy stretch at Genoveses (20 minutes’ drive), accessed by unpaved track and with no facilities; spectacular Mónsul (25 minutes) is scattered with vast volcanic boulders; and isolated Cala San Pedro, backed by arid cliffs, is only accessible on foot from the village of Las Negras (25 minutes). There are spectacular volcanic cliffs to admire at Punta de los Muertos (40 minutes), and you have stunning views of the rugged coastal landscapes from the summit of La Mesa Roldán (40 minutes). Closer to home, the pretty fishing town of Isleta del Moro (15 minutes) is worth visiting for lovely seaside views. There’s plenty of manmade attractions in the park too; check out the millennia-old Acueducto del Arco (half an hour), as well as the abandoned village houses at Cortijo Las Moreras (35 minutes) and the relics of a defunct dam up at Embalse de Isabel II (half an hour).
