Stand by for action – the gorgeous Gorenjska region is packed with outdoorsy activities and the friendly folk at ECO River Camp, six kilometres from Radovljica, are on hand to help you get stuck in. Rafting, horse riding, kayaking, canyoning or gliding over the greenery on a hot air balloon or paragliding trip: chat with the reception team and they’ll get them set up for you. Seeking a bit more serenity? No worries – intrepid outings aren't mandatory. The site’s equally well set up for days of chilling out, perhaps stretching your legs on a local walking trail or selecting a suitable spot by the Sava river for fishing, paddling or just daydreaming… Sightseeing’s pretty straightforward too: Lake Bled is a 15-minute drive away, the Triglav National Park is just beyond it, and lovely Ljubljana is just over half an hour from the site. It is possible to charge your devices here, and there are fridges in the kitchen and reception that guests are free to use. For extra eco points, it's easy to get here by train (Globoko station is a five-minute stroll away) and the team can hook you up with bike rental nearby.

Liked Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les infrastructures proposées : surtout la cuisine équipée partagée.
Le camping est assez espacé et le fait de pouvoir choisir son emplacement est un +.
De plus, beaucoup de choses étaient mises en place pour notre confort (chariot pour déplacer les affaires, équipements de la cuisine etc).

Disliked Nous entendions fort le bruit du train (même la nuit).

Liked Die Lage am Fluss war sehr idyllisch. Außerdem war die Größe des Campingplatzes sehr angenehm und hatte eine familiäre Atmosphäre. Die Sanitäranlagen waren sehr sauber, im Spülbereich gab es Spülmittel und zur Verfügung gestellte Schwämme. Darüber hinaus war das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Liked Wunderschön, ausreichend Platz pro Stellplatz und es wird viel Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit gelegt. Es ist alles super gut eingerichtet und schön hergerichtet, aber nicht zu viel. Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat uns sehr gute Tipps für die Umgebung gegeben.

Liked The whole ethos behind the place. Some excellent touches like the fire pit at night or the solar powered showers (others available) which were warm late into the evening.

The indoor kitchen was brilliant, the best I've seen by quite a way.

The catering van providing simple food including breakfast.

Local attractions

It's worth scheduling an extensive stay here, for on top of all the alfresco activities there are lots of other days out nearby. Start your sojourn with a visit to Radovljica (10 minutes' drive) to meander through its medieval Old Town, take in its art gallery and beekeeping museum and fuel up for adventures ahead at the gingerbread workshop, where you can watch the traditional treats being crafted before you devour them. Lake Bled, 15 minutes away by car, is well worth a day out: hike or bike your way round the whole thing on a six-kilometre paved path, taking detours to clamber up to viewpoints or Bled Castle, or to scream down the toboggan run. A dip in the lake and a slice of Bled cream cake await at the end of your endeavours. Ljubljana’s also easily doable on a day trip; board a train and you can be there in less than an hour to see the famed castle and Triple Bridge, wander through the pretty streets and sip coffee by the river.
