Stand by for action – the gorgeous Gorenjska region is packed with outdoorsy activities and the friendly folk at ECO River Camp, six kilometres from Radovljica, are on hand to help you get stuck in. Rafting, horse riding, kayaking, canyoning or gliding over the greenery on a hot air balloon or paragliding trip: chat with the reception team and they’ll get them set up for you. Seeking a bit more serenity? No worries – intrepid outings aren't mandatory. The site’s equally well set up for days of chilling out, perhaps stretching your legs on a local walking trail or selecting a suitable spot by the Sava river for fishing, paddling or just daydreaming… Sightseeing’s pretty straightforward too: Lake Bled is a 15-minute drive away, the Triglav National Park is just beyond it, and lovely Ljubljana is just over half an hour from the site. It is possible to charge your devices here, and there are fridges in the kitchen and reception that guests are free to use. For extra eco points, it's easy to get here by train (Globoko station is a five-minute stroll away) and the team can hook you up with bike rental nearby.

Liked: -Leuke locatie aan de rivier -De hangmatten tussen de bomen aan de rivier. -leuke bar voor koffie's in de ochtend en cocktails en diner savond - vriendelijk personeel - grote propere douches en toilet

Disliked: - de ijskast zat propvol en er zat niet echt structuur in. ( onze chocolade was dan ook verdwenen)

Liked: Het sanitair was schoon. De camping was prachtig. De mevrouw bij de receptie was heel vriendelijk. Er hing een open sfeer anders dan campings waar heel veel mensen komen.

Disliked: Er loopt een treinspoor langs de camping en de treinen rijden ook in de nacht. Dit heeft me meerdere keren wakker gemaakt.

Liked: -aménagements cuisine et sanitaires bien pensés - cuisine agréable - possibilité d'avoir des raffraichissement et petite restauration sur place - frigo et espace de recharge - sanitaires et douches spacieux et propres - cadre calme et idyllique, les pieds au bord du fleuve sava

Disliked: - passage de trains récurrents derrière le fleuve, y compris la nuit - approvisionnement d'eau chaude variable - interactions minimales avec le staff (surtout à la fin du séjour au checkout, pas de commentaires, ni de conseils sur les environs à l'arrivée)

Liked: We really loved the whole camp! well equipped, demanding. The kitchen, showers and toilets is always clean. That was my second time in here, and i am sure we will come back next year. Helpfull and kind staff. Peaceful and beautiful nature around the camp.

Local attractions

It's worth scheduling an extensive stay here, for on top of all the alfresco activities there are lots of other days out nearby. Start your sojourn with a visit to Radovljica (10 minutes' drive) to meander through its medieval Old Town, take in its art gallery and beekeeping museum and fuel up for adventures ahead at the gingerbread workshop, where you can watch the traditional treats being crafted before you devour them. Lake Bled, 15 minutes away by car, is well worth a day out: hike or bike your way round the whole thing on a six-kilometre paved path, taking detours to clamber up to viewpoints or Bled Castle, or to scream down the toboggan run. A dip in the lake and a slice of Bled cream cake await at the end of your endeavours. Ljubljana’s also easily doable on a day trip; board a train and you can be there in less than an hour to see the famed castle and Triple Bridge, wander through the pretty streets and sip coffee by the river.
