  • Family-friendly lakeside setting on the Kraaijenbergse Plassen
  • Sail to the Maas; Netherlands' oldest city Nijmegen, 25 minutes' drive
  • Bar, restaurant and a beach area on site for guests to go swimming
Here’s a preview for your Noord-Brabant break: sailing and wild swimming on lakes, peaceful country bike rides and the lakeside setting of Europarcs De Kraaijenbergse Plassen. Thoroughly scenic and family-friendly, this site doesn’t just have a beach on the Kraaijenbergse Plassen. It’s also possible to sail onto the Maas, a river that stretches all the way down Maastricht. Base yourself here if you’d like to be surrounded by natural water that’s splendid for swimming. This Noord-Brabant landscape, four kilometres from Cuijk, is made up of large lakes, moors, sand drifts and old forests. Bonus points on site include the chic bar, restaurant and beach area, as well as a toilet block and launderette for guests to keep themselves well-fed and fresh. When you’re done with your lake paddles, Netherland’s oldest city Nijmegen is 25 minutes’ drive north of the site. With Roman ruins in the riverside Valkhof Park (half an hour), old plazas and historical sites, it has a fine mix of historical and peaceful vibes. Wildlife-wise, splendid spots for any bike rides or walks are the Mookerheide nature reserve (20 minutes’ drive) and the Staatsbossen in Sint Anthonisbos’ (25 minutes) forests and sand drifts (there are routes of two to 26 kilometres to tackle). Overloonsche Duinen (25 minutes) has more forest trails for wheels or humble hiking boots.
